  Kiss the cook is the perfect little breakfast establishment. It's a perfect blend of friendly wait staff, their own personal touch with the baker's basket, and just the perfect amount of portions for breakfast without being costly. I will drive across town any day just to eat breakfast here.

  I love this place. Real food cooked like at home. No deep fried home fries here. And such a cute place.

  The service however was what set this restaurant apart for me. Our server Rachel was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. She got our whole order correct even with substitutions. And did it all with a smile. She made great recommendations and checked on our table many times. She was friendly the whole time and We all really enjoyed her. I guess she's also a cook here but my suggestion is to move her to front of house. She's awesome!!!!

  This is a cozy little local restaurant. The decor has many antiques, some of which are for sale. I liked the Sting N Linger seasoning that was on the table so much that I bought a bottle on the way out. The prices are very reasonable, and everything is homemade. It's a great place to bring kids, too. There are many tasty selections for breakfast and lunch.
  
  As others have recommended, get the basket of mini muffins and take some home. You'll be glad you did.
  
  I knocked off one star only because they were very busy when we ate there, and the staff seemed pretty stressed out, and it took about 30 minutes to get our food. It was worth the wait, though.

  Cute, Mom and Pop style diner. Gem to find in Phoenix! Great decor and home style feel. Love the mismatched plates and furniture. Everything was so endearing. Muffins are phenomenal!
