  This bike shop is the best bike shop I have ever been to. I stopped by on a whim last year because the ratings were so good, and the owner Kenji and I quickly became friends. Not only is he very knowledgeable, but he is really into supporting riders no matter what your discipline. This is different than other shops that are just in it to sell you a new bike and then don’t care if they see you again. Area Cycles has a huge following and rightfully so. If this isn’t the first bike shop you go to when you need a part or a repair, it should be.
  
  Also, I am a girl and have been discriminated against at other bike shops because they think I’m not a hard core rider or think that I don’t ride gnarly stuff. Kenji is the exact opposite. He loves to see women and kids ripping it up.
  
  Can’t gush about this place enough. Go there and spend your money already!! What are you waiting for??

  My highest compliments to Area Cycles, on Castro Valley Blvd in Castro Valley. "Phillip" offered the best customer services I have seen in years. He not only made a donated bike for a little girl, like new; but made the little girl and her single mother were very happy as it's the first bike for the six year old who lost her father last year.
  While waiting as Philip made repairs to the donated bike, I observed the care he gave three young boys waiting on a mother to come to buy a bike for one of the young boys, who said he had shopped for a particular bike and found the best price at Area Cycles. Phillip gave advice to the boys and showed them points about bikes.
  I enjoyed my experience at Area Cycles. Please support this business.

  Small shop but super friendly people, very knowledgeable and helpful. I've been there twice and im already switching over and making them my go to shop.!

  I literally had to takel This old-school more Rubicon I bought off craigslist in the back of the taxis trunk to get a tuneup. Thanks guys

  Beyond helpful. My bike is old and so am I but since I really have a poor understanding of mechanics, so I can be easily be ripped off. What iI DO have an understanding of good service, quality, and someone who truly cares about doing a good job. I've done some bike shop shopping and some have been more disappointing than others. Area Cycles has my loyalty and deserve yours. Thanks, Area Cycles!
