New Sprouts Chinese School

My daughter has been attending New Sprouts Chinese School for 4 years now, and we've been very happy with her progress and the teaching staff. NS delivers a communicative curriculum which is fun and enriching. The school community is diverse ethnically and culturally, and the vibe is relaxed. They also have a great summer camp program. I have had 2 of my kids attend New Sprouts Chinese School for weekend classes. For my one daughter, the classes provided a nice foundation for her to attend Yu Ming. It has really eased her transition into a Mandarin-speaking Kindergarten. My other daughter has also gotten really excited about learning Mandarin at NS because she has watched her sister learn it, sing songs and practice. She started in their Parent-N-Tot class.

New Sprouts does a great job of making the classes a nice mix of interactive circle time, song, dance, stories, art, snack time and review while being exposed to the culture and what can be a very intimidating language. They really try to emphasize basic vocabulary and conversation and present it in a fun and friendly way so that the kids want to participate. The lessons are also posted online so that you can review the material with your children. This is especially important for me since I forget the pronunciation and need help.
