“Zivel is one of those hidden gems in Bakersfield that is about to get very busy and very hard to get into. They offer several therapies, like Cryotherapy and Infrared Sauna, both of which I have tried. But my favorite is the float therapy. I’d heard of this before but had never tried it until Zivel. Being quiet and still … for a whole hour … is something I rarely do, so I thought that this might be good for me. I have really enjoyed each session and even fell asleep in one of them recently. One of the unexpected benefits was that floating has really helped my jacked-up neck. I didn’t know that it would help relax those muscles and I can move my head more easily now. Talk about a win-win. You’ve got to check this place out for yourself, before they fill up every single appointment and you have a hard time getting in.”

“Affordable Hope is a transitional living home. Many of the clients are disabled and are on SSI. There hot meals provided 3 times a day with a variety of snacks and drinks for the evening. There is an on duty house Manager/Cook that supervises the activities, provides meals and makes sure clients get to necessary appointments. It is a clean place to live, with good nutritious meals with washer/drier, outdoor sitting area and reasonable rent. The rooms are of good size and have single and double occupancies.”
