Mariscos Guillen

My chapter stopped by to grab some food on our way back to the Central Valley. From the moment we stopped and walked in, the service was A-1!!! The older woman and gentlemen made sure we where taken care of and our food was on point. We will be stopping here every time we come into the city.

On flights in and out of LAX, avoided when possible but sometimes inevitable, the silver lining is always food. Before most travel came to a halt, a recent return afforded the opportunity to seek out more LAX-adjacent mariscos, this time in Hawthorne.

Mariscos Guillen, named for the original owner, was a fun lunch find and much more than the simple counter-service joint it presents itself as. The menu of offerings is actually quite vast, but the stack of tostadas near the register for ordering might clue you into what most people are eating here.

Pay in cash, take your seat, and get settled. As simple dishes like the ceviche tostada ($2.50) are enjoyed, someone will come over and make sure everything is good. The place has all the makings of a joint you want to become a regular in.

Hidden gem of a Mexican seafood spot. They also serve chicken, pork and beef but they specialize in their mariscos.

Order fried or grilled fish/shrimp tacos. Their crevice is super fresh.

Beef pork and chicken tacos are only $1.50. I think the fish and shrimp are $3, they are huuuuge. Like, bigger then my hand big.

Veggie options available - tacos and burritos. No vegan beans. I was delighted to find green peas in my veggie taco.

Tacos served with a bunch of freshly chopped onion, tomato and lettuce. Salsas and chunky guacamole are delicious.

Cash only.

Mexican beers served here along with Mexican sodas. Free parking behind the building.

The people who work here are super friendly!
