“It was so awesome to be welcomed in by this progressive church when I moved to Long Beach. I was able to get involved in my community right away with social justice work and if you have time and energy there is always a place for you to contribute your talents and volunteer to keep the church running, or simply attend services or other meetings. I got to sing in the choir and attend leadership training, work with kids, help with church finances. And the sermons fill me up with joy and hope and have inspired me to work for justice and a better world. They literally helped give me more of a feeling of connection, purpose and meaning when I was feeling a little lost. I will always be grateful for this special community.”
