  This place is beautiful with beautiful views. The city has (I assume) helped find a new nature center at White point and volunteers have been planting different species of local foliage. The nature center has a lot of information on the area and the history, as well as classes for young children. The path is a good 30 minute (brisk) walk unless you go up some hills or stop to check stuff out.

  Beautiful views. Peaceful place in a very well groomed preservation area, always evolving.

  The nature center is awesome. They have all kinds of interactive displays, books, stuffed animals, birds, lots of critters and plenty of information. Lots of information on the geology of the area as well. The preserve itself is rather small with only a few trails, but you can connect them to other trails to make it worth while. Check their calendar for Nature Center events/ talks/ walks. There's always something going on here.

Story Time at White Point Nature Education Center

Children can enjoy a fun, and educational, lesson about nature at this story time. Kids will listen to stories read to them by a Los Angeles City Ranger. This is a monthly program that occurs on every second Saturday.
