Nice park. Lots of grass, the lake is very pretty. You can go there by yourself and not have to worry about anything. The ducks and squirrels by the lake will think you came just to see them! Lol
I absolutely love this place, have absolutely nothing bad to say about It! Conveniently located in the middle of the Valley, with its lovely lake, diverse types of birds, for bird-watching. Your also able to go fishing, from what I noticed.
It accommodates visitors with several options, from being able to picnic outside or Bar-B-Que. Perhaps go for bike rides or paddle boat rides. It'd be nice if they'd place a lovely botanical garden with a gazebo or two, perhaps even consider upgrading by placing more trails for hiking or maybe even a skate park area, or allow rollerskating.
Just a thought, but nonetheless a delightful place, that I love to visit for tranquility. ????????
Beautiful big and perfect for many activities. Lots of birds visitors feeding and some fishermen. You can walk the trails. Kids has lots of options, and overall it was amazing. The best part is the park is located close the residential area so there is no need to drive too far if you are local.
I am happy with the place and with conditions of the lake and facilities. Recommended.
Lake Balboa is always a wonderful retreat but I'm so happy to see that they are cracking down on the homeless and cleaning out all of the encampments of which there are so many. It's very sad because I know these people have nowhere to go but the park was starting to smell like and look like a public toilet it was disgusting. Instead of a place of looking Inward and enjoying nature I was starting to feel anxious and unsafe most of the time particularly in the Bullhead Creek area which is my favorite area to walk. So a huge thank you to the Rangers and staff and caretakers of Lake Balboa for your huge efforts . I've spoken to many of you and I know how big the job was and how daunting of a task it was but it looks great keep up the good work and we appreciate everything.
Nice park. Large. Was there for the annual Triumph Foundation Over The Line Wheelchair Baseball Tournament. They have a wheelchair accessible baseball field, with a rubberized coating over concrete for easier rolling. No gopher holes or sprinkler heads. Awesome event by the Triumph Foundation!
