Eaton Canyon trail is a trail with good views. We went here on a Sunday morning. The hike to the 40-foot Eaton Canyon Waterfalls can be summed up to: 1.1 miles of wide flat, relatively uneventful dirt trail, followed by 0.65 miles of single track up a narrow canyon that is adventurous and fun (forming a 3.5 mile round trip hike with 375 feet of elevation change). Free parking is available. Dogs are welcome in Eaton Canyon Park and on Eaton Canyon Trail to the waterfall. No fee or permit is required. Overall, I enjoyed my time hiking. It is an easy trail so anyone can do it.
2nd time around and it's still a great hike to the falls. The last time I came it was Socal typical dry day so there was no waterfall. Now I know to go a day or two after it rains to get the best view of the falls. This hike is easy but it's full of rocks, the first half is full sun (protect your skin). The hike to the falls is approx 44 min, at a steady pace with minimum stopping. I would suggesf that you bring a snack or lunch to enjoy by the falls. Please do not litter if you do, no trash cans are available. Happy hiking!
Dog friendly, nice trails, does get hot until you reach the canyon and temp drops. Nice approx 20 ft high falls at the end of the trail, about 1.5 miles each way
Awesome place to hike. It's quiet and peaceful. It was my first time but I encountered many friendly people.
Didn't know what paths to take but half of the fun was getting lost????. I made it to the small waterfall, not alot of water, but still a beauty.
I noticed it's pet friendly. Just remember to bring a doggie waste bag.

Close proximity to the Eaton Canyon Trail head, shopping, and all that north East Altadena has to offer, make this a home not to miss.
