Texas Canyon Rock Climbing Area

Lots of fun even if you are not climbing. You do not need a 4x4 to make it there eitheir. If you continue pass the area however it does become an off road park.

Such an awesome place to climb! A short but beautiful walk back to the rocks, and once you're there you have tons to choose from. Even on good climbing days, there are plenty of routes for most levels of climbers. Routes have bolts for lead climbing and top roping, and many are detailed on The Mountain Project app. Afternoon sun makes for incredible pictures. Beware the wind tunnelbetween the rocks. Great place to learn how to lead climb!!

This is a fun local climbing area. The approach is very short and easy to walk, and the rocks are fun to explore even if you're not into climbing. The climbing has all levels available from 5.2 to 5.13, and there are even a couple of multipitch climbs. The only downside is that this area is extremely dry and dusty and the rock tends to be brittle and can break off from time to time. Overall, I love this area and will come back anytime I'm in town.

Little bit hard for little kids,but is amazing.

The climbing site isn't visible from the road leading into the area. You have to park at the trailhead and hike about a tenth of a mile before you can see the rocks. A day use permit is also needed to use the area. Rangers will check and ticket cars without a permit on the dash.
