the name is a little I don't know, forced, but I guess they just wanted to make it a little more "edgy" and "with it". Personally it's just a place that's kind of in the colonial style as if we were in the middle of the tropics or something. I think, that's what they're going for anyway, although if they really want to use fans to cool the place they need a lot more fans and slightly bigger than what they currently use, as I've lived in the tropics for most of my life and it configuration like this just doesn't cut it. The food it was okay I mean we didn't go in-depth, just some coffee and a little bit of dessert which, we picked had a nice tiramisu, which was good although in the neoclassical way you know? The server was polite, although a little bit reserved, too reserved for someone who's serving people in the way that she was. I'm not certain she's worked this kind of crowd before, and if she has she should have been talked to before, because she didn't do anything badly you just got the feeling she wasn't really there. So I guess what I'm saying is there not a five, but since this doesn't do anything but whole number increments, it would be a disservice to not give them a 5 but say they're really more of a 4.4 you know? Keep in mind we didn't eat their actual food and that it is in a hotel so those are both pluses and minuses for it. Also, it was a Sunday and we just wanted to walk around the beach and seem like a decent place to start that walk.

Terrazzo is the restaurant in the lobby of Casa Del Mar Hotel. It has an ocean view that is amazing. The beach is 20ft away and there are no obstructions between the hotel and the water. The food is very good and the staff is very attentive. I would definitely return.

I stopped here for lunch after touring venues for a business meeting. It is located inside the Case Del Mar hotel by the lounge area. It’s a fancy and casual restaurant that it near the Santa Monica Pier. If you get good seating, then you can see the ocean waves and the Santa Monica beach walk. The service was friendly and attentive. The place is clean, and it’s nicely set up.

I ordered the steak frites with chimichurri sauce. I thought the fries and steak were going to come in mixed with the sauce, but they were all separate which is good. The steak was flavorful and cut up perfectly. It wasn’t hard but nice and tender. The fries were good, and everything combined with the chimichurri sauce was delicious. I decided to indulge the sweet tooth and ordered the lava cake with ice cream. The lava cake is chocolate coated in powdered sugar, chocolate sauce, and vanilla ice cream. It was full of chocolatey goodness. It wasn’t too sweet and makes a perfect dessert on a hot day. If you want to enjoy some good views and want a casual lunch or dinner, then it’s a good place to experience.

We came here to refresh after walking on the pier. I loved the view, the decor and the ambiance! The margaritas tasted outstanding even though they were very strong. We had a couple of rounds then headed out. Staff service was impeccable! I would definitely return to have lunch or dinner there.
