Great hike! Haven't been there in years and it was totally worth it! The hike will kick your butt so be in shape! Also, no water. Too bad.
Route is very well maintained. Definitely not an easy hike for first timers. Its an inclined walk from the start. When compared to eaton canyon trail this seems like a shorter hike.
Street parking is available. Not heavily congested with hikers, so there's a good amount of parking neat the entrance.
Scenery is ok. Not too many trees or vegetation along the way.
Overall a great route that's worth the trip.
A challenging hike on a sunny day in summer heat. Trail well maintained with beautiful views and no Starbucks.
Great hike, very steep and not easy for beginners. It's best to get there super early in the morning or after 4 pm on Spring/Summer season, there's very little shade the first 1.5 miles and it can get very hot. Hiking sticks are recommended if you have some
Terrific secluded hike in the city of Sierra Madre, within the San Gabriel mountains. The trail becomes steep in certain areas, so do wear proper shoes. Most of the trail lacks shade, so dress accordingly and bring sufficient drinking water.
