“Dr. Maasarani refused to release my mom from the hospital when she continued to have intermittent fevers. The Infectious Disease dr and GP doctor wanted to release her saying it was her CLL causing it. Although not his exact area, Dr. Maasarani knew that CLL by itself would not cause a fever. He believed along with the oncologist that there was an infection that had not been found. After 8 days, my mom ended up in ICU where it was determined she had a double pneumonia and UTI. Had she not been in the hospital at the time, she may not have made it. Dr. Maasarani followed her throughout her entire stay, was very caring and explained results clearly. We have not been to his office. Our experience was through Long Beach Memorial hospital.”
