“One of the most magical and resourceful creations and creative beings that ever lived in avalon. He is responsible for most of the painted tiles around town, several installations to the native American community that existed on the island before it was purchased by the wrigley's, as well as several bronze sculptures found on front street. This used to be the most magical place to visit & create alongside a Catalina legend, who dedicated his lifes work to collecting treasures discarded by locals & construction projects into beautiful works of arrt to be displayed & recreated into functional arrt works, & fully immersive creative space. Unfortunately the island company, has kicked him out of this beautiful museum he spent over 43 creating and sharing with the Island, as well as off the island, as they need their land to build more development, something that is a very serious issue, as the initial reason Wrigley jr bought the island and donated it to the Conservancy was to PREVENT FURTHER DEVELOPMENT to preserve the land and history Just another part of Catalina history, that's been pushed out due to corruption & corporate discrimination of things they don't make $ on.”

“The Nature Center is run by the Catalina Island Conservancy. It is free and is located about 3/4 of the way up to the Wrigley Nature Park along the scenic road from Avalon. It has displays about the flora and fauna found in the island. They offer clothes and souvenirs. Staff is very friendly and happy to answer questions. Currently there is a live camera on one of the Bald Eagle nests.”

“Great antique store, much more than it looks from outside! Lots to discover - some booths more like museums! 4 stars because prices were a little high on some of the more everyday items.”

“I expected the pieces to be knock offs and boring. However, they exceeded my expectations, exponentially. This is a fun place to visit, but I wouldn't recommend bringing young kids.”

“Hot Hot HOT! If you're shooting out here during the summer be prepared for the HEAT! The location is an extremely cool (pun intended) place to film. I've shot here a number of times and each time I'm in awe of this place in the middle of no where. Plenty of parking near and far from set depending on what kind of shot you need. Definitely be aware of snakes and scorpions and other creepy crawlers!”

“This is a great place for fans of the A-12 and SR-71. It has the first A-12 built. Also there is an SR-71. The J-58 is on display. One of the amazing tires is on display. They were good for about ten landings. There is also a gift shop with goodies. Also there is a drone version. Next door is another collection of aircraft that includes a B-52.”

“As a student, this is a great resource for inspiration. I enjoyed contemplating work in this setting. I used it to exchange ideas with friends and socialize during Grad Night. Sometimes this is used for storage or trans-disciplinary studio projects but this is a museum quality space that exhibits artists and designers. You're generally allowed to photograph inside.”
