“Went here for a beach clean up. It actually is naturally quite clean as all the trash washes to the top of the beach at high tide so you can play on the beach and in the water with nothing to fear. The main activity here is wind surfing, as it is always very windy here. So not the best place to relax and enjoy a quiet afternoon on the beach. They were a joy to watch and everyone performed very well as the conditions were perfect.”

“Great little campground! Much smaller “town” than Avalon. Only 1 store and restaurant/bar. Spots are on a hill. Higher ones more secluded, with panoramic views. Lower ones by water, but more foot traffic. Only boat Catalina Express from Long Beach. Each has a picnic table, fire pit, and metal grill. Snorkeling is a blast. Summer sells out easily. They deliver wood which is nice, because it’s 1/4 mile from stores and dock, so be prepared to carry your stuff over the hill! Review below, to the left and right of picture is the beach 10 steps away, so kind of misleading. Do your research online before you pick your spot. But the company could do a better job of showing you locations and photos of each spot online. The birds and animals are ruthless. Don’t leave your stuff out!”

Black Jack Campground

“Camped here overnight in October. There was logging going on at the first tier of campgrounds. The seconds tier looks nice. There is an open beach shower on a concrete slab, and plenty of potable water. There were big shade trees over most of the camp sites. BJ01 I think, is closest to the Catalina trailhead from Avalon. We would give five stars but the outhouses were pretty stinky and full of flies.”

Rawley Duntley Park

“Good pokemon spot there are 2 gyms here, and if you raid here you are more than likely able to receive an ex raid pass. Also the park is always clean and the grass is cutt often. There are a couple of big tables with shade for parties. the playground is nice! Definitely love this park!!”

“I think it sucks that the park system is making us exchange a pass that's supposed to be lifetime and they did a horrible job notifying holders of the lifetime pass that it would be expiring and changing that said the employees at this location were very helpful in getting the new pass exchange for me they are not the one that decided to change the system... this location 8 plus the state park agency as a whole C- thanks to this lifetime pass debacle”

“This little Park reserve is pretty remote but is also a part of Lancaster CA history. If you were to visit the place, notice the fossils of the animals that are preserved. No they're not dinosaurs but they do make facinating conversations, and tells.”

Prime Desert Woodland Preserve

Address: 43201 35th St W, Lancaster, CA 93536, USA

“This is one of our favorite places to visit. Multiple peaceful trails, bridges, educational information to read, and wildlife and nature to observe (both in the day and at night). The moon walks are excellent, as well as the astronomy club's telescopes.Morning strolls with children, family, and friends are so nice. You wouldn't know you are right in the middle of central Lancaster. And how great that the preserve's expansion project will protect more Joshua trees and wildlife. We love seeing the birds, rabbits, and vegetation. There is also a great picnic area and educational center. Such a great place!”

La Piedra State Beach

Address: Malibu, CA 90265, USA

“La Piedra is a great park to go hiking and get a view of the Pacific. Make sure you bring comfortable hiking shoes, as the trails can be steep......but it’s all worth it once the view expands and you see the ocean. Here is a good hint.....go near sundown. But leave yourself enough time to get back up to the parking lot before the sun is fully set......it gets really dark and thee is no lighting.”
