“First time checking this place out and WOW! Is it ever on point and so much more! The vibrations and the aura this place holds is phenomenal! So many vibrational light beings inside this POWERHOUSE! Being bi racial and unfamiliar with our culture, we have strived to find communities that connect us with our African-American heritage and Compound has a way of doing that in so many facets. With the support of local black artists, and so many offerings within The Healing Arts Ministry, this place is most definitely a NEW FOUND HOME AWAY FROM HOME! Have been following their newsletter for many months familiarizing ourselves with what they offer and when we heard that there was a monthly open mic that definitely sparked our interests! Writing is an art form and it was such a pleasure to get on that stage and share our words with others. It was a quaint group with a little over 10 performers. We enjoyed the writing prompts and the time that we were given to jot down ideas. This event will be our go-to, as it is a safe, inclusive place to share our words with all. (Not only that, this open mic was different than the rest, in that the co-host was celebrating her bday.) If we're not mistaken her name was Shelly? EVERY WORD SPOKEN touched our hearts. The inspiration, the rawness, the depth...she combined it all in a way that touched every orifice of our being. We truly enjoyed the mixture of multi media compositions including: dance, music, fire, spoken word, digital flower visuals and the POWER OF THE SWORD. It was such an honor to experience this with her. HER ONENESS! HER CLARITY! HER PASSION! The journey in which she has partaken in, is one that we will never EVER forget! Her words we will never forget, each one wrapped around this body like the veins.COMPOUND WE WILL NEVER FORGET! Thank you THANK YOU for this gift. Thank you for reawakening our own self love! (The flowers that you gave to the audience members have been placed in the center of our altar, and will be dried and kept as a memory of you.) As Shelly says "Hovering near love is a habit not a vow. Heavy is the head that wears the crown. All my worst pain came from not trusting my truth." Going forward we will ensure that love comes first, next to our own truth and that our crown is worn daily! AMEN ASHE AHO”

“A decent place for Filipino food. The place is relatively clean and well maintained. The grocery, food orders and meat area is on the first floor while their Dining Area is on the 2nd floor. It gets busy during lunch and dinner hours. The are kinda slow with taking orders. Wish they had a better system of just getting your order and food. Being in line takes about 15 to 20 minutes to have your food ready. By that time, I'm already dizzy from hunger. The food is great though. So it is worth the wait. Especially their grilled foods like pork bbqs and fish. Very big portions. Although not all the foods are the best in taste so you will need to discover which ones are the best for you. Grocery is abundant with lots of Filipino products. Meat are is kinda generic. You can have large orders of food and schedule a pick up date. It is ordered in the cashier up front. Good amount of parking but can be very busy. Staff is friendly and accomodating although they are mostly busy.”

“Absolutely favorite place!!! Love sharable tapas style dishes. One can't skip Bacari fries with egg and aioli sauce. My favorite there are scallops, lamb kabob, chicken sliders were new on the menu (wasn't crazy about sauce tasted weird) but crispy chicken was very good. Also fish is always a good choice there, beet salad is amazing.”

“The customer service here is 5 stars. The pizza is amazing. The meatballs are incredible. We ordered 3 pizza's, 1 salad, and during another visit I got the Meatball sub sandwhich. Everytime I have been here the service has been amazing. Everytime I order food it is fresh, and delicious.”

“I feel like this place is always open and has everything on the menu. I got the huevos rancheros in the afternoon. Included saucy bell peppers and onions over eggs (came over easy which I forgot to tell I don’t like anything runny), lots of beans and sliced potatoes from the pan. We also got a steak sandwich and fries which the fries are sometimes the reason to go there, the seasoning is yummy! Found Orange Bang there too which is something I haven’t had in years as haven’t come across it at most restaurants anymore.”

“I live right down the street from here and didn't even know it existed! Such a cute little hidden gem. No seating inside but a cute patio outside with wonderful lights. I was excited to try the hamburger and I added on a fries and drink. The rest of my family upgraded their burger and got avocados on it and they said it was delicious. I tried the fries, onion rings, and the tater tots and they were ALL delicious, but the onion rings were my favorite! Couldn't leave without ordering their ice cream and it was also a fan favorite in my household. The staff was very friendly and our food came out quickly in about 5 minutes.”

“Went here for lunch. Had the calamari, crab cake, & the arugula salad as appetizers. All 3 were excellent, our favorite was the calamari. The crab cake was a close 2nd. For entrees, we had the special mahi-mahi with risotto, salmon with couscous, & seafood linguine. Both fishes were fresh & cooked perfectly. The star was the seafood pasta - sauce was award winning. Our waiter told us what went into making that dish. The risottos was cooked perfectly. Service was impeccable. Our host was very friendly & courteous. He told us how to get to the Malibu Beach pier (2 traffic lights) & allowed us to park our car at the restaurant. We walked to the end of the pier, they had couple restaurants 1 at the front. We checked their menus, their prices were the same or higher than V’s. I doubt their preparation would equal V’s. Lastly, you can see our lunch portions were more than adequate. I would say equivalent to diner portions at most high quality restaurants. 2 thumbs up for V’s.”

“The food is amazing. Wednesday is pizza night and I highly recommend it! It did not cost anything to get in on nights when there is no music or sunset summer festival. The service was a little slow, but it's a very laid back atmosphere and all food and beverages we're eventually brought to the table. It's dog friendly!”

“This restaurant was in route to the airport. Tucked away in a little shopping center. Food was pretty good and they really went above and beyond to correct a little miscommunication on our order. Are use the kiosk to order and that was a unique experience”

“Hands down, this is my favorite brunch spot in LA. For price, quality of food, ambiance and service are all 5 star. My favorite thing for brunch is the hot chicken and biscuits, but you really can’t go wrong with any of the selections. My friend got the steak and eggs, and it was delish! They used to do bottomless mimosas and now they do pitchers, but it’s honestly still a good deal. Mostly because it’s more of a mimosa cocktail rather than just champagne and OJ. All the sweet treats are amazing too on the brunch menu. We got all 3! So so good!”

“El Rancho Grande is a hidden gem that brings the flavors of Mexico to Los Angeles in the most authentic and delightful way possible. Located in [insert address], this restaurant has quickly become one of my favorite go-to spots for Mexican cuisine. The menu at El Rancho Grande is a true celebration of Mexican culinary traditions. From classic dishes like enchiladas and tacos to more unique specialties, they offer a wide variety of options that cater to every palate. The flavors are rich, vibrant, and incredibly satisfying. Every bite is a taste of Mexico's finest ingredients and culinary techniques. One of the standout dishes at El Rancho Grande is their mouthwatering carne asada. “When we got the bill, we were charged $3 more per item. If you go, make sure you ask about the prices before you order. Not sure why we had to pay $6 more for our meal. No explanation was given. The food at Maya was good and there was a large selection on the menu. There is free street parking out front on the side street. Many people were getting orders to go. We tried the Chilaquiles con Huevos with red sauce and the Steak a la Mexicana. You can choose red sauce or green sauce with the chilaquiles. I wanted half red and half green, but they won’t do that. You can also choose to have all beans or half beans and half potatoes. I did half and half and I’m glad I did. The potatoes were good. The Steak a la Mexicana was good and spicy. Overall, a good place with questionable pricing.”
