“We have been attending GUMC since November 2016 and we never stopped! There are two services available the 9AM service is a little less formal than the 10:30AM service. We mostly attend the 9AM service. The congregation for both service's are welcoming down to earth God loving people. The Pastor Hillary Chrisley is also very warm and welcoming. We recently made the decision to become members of this church. At the 10:30 service Sunday school is offered. If you are on the hard of hearing side and even Deaf you too would find a home here. The Pastor types out her sermon and stays very close to it only occasionly she may add a word here and there. I sign for my friend who attends with me all the prayer requests, announcements, anything that is not in writing or projected on to the wall. For the sermon we sit together and follow along with the text so we both understand and enjoy. If you are looking for a new church or have recently moved and are looking for a church home stop by and let the Lord lead you and don't worry we are always there to welcome you.”

He cares about pedagogy (a lot), and he has as much knowledge about how someone learns as he does how to play guitar. He will go in whatever direction the student wants to go. If you want to learn a lot of theory, he can and will do it. If you want to learn an entire favorite album, he's in. If you aren't sure what kind of a guitar player you want to be, he will explore that, too. There's no shame, no cajoling. He's always upbeat, and he's there to help you become the player you want to be, on your schedule. He teaches in person and by Skype, too, so it doesn't matter where you are.”

“This was my first visit to Rockport, I've got to start off by saying the price for the room was great and I was honestly surprised by how nice and clean the room was when I first entered. This is a basic hotel not luxury so if that's what you're looking for rent a beach house lol. I did have a bit of an issue with the room key reader (had to do it a few times before the door unlocked) but that happens everywhere, & there was no soap in my restroom but when i went to the office and let the receptionist know I needed some, she was so sweet and apologetic about there not being any in the room and gave me what I needed. The location in my opinion is amazing for the price you pay, my daughter and I were able to walk to the beach and it's great that they're across the street from a gas station. The microwave and mini fridge were clean & the AC worked great! The beds were clean and so comfy. I will definitely be using this Hotel for any future visits and I would recommend this place to anyone on a budget who is needing a beach getaway. If you have small kids just keep them away from the windows because it is a very thin glass and you don't want any accidents.”
