  My symptoms of BPH progressed to the point of significant restriction in daily activities along with the realization that I could ignore them no longer. These prospects motivated serious research to hopefully expand the very limited options from general medical care and the urologist who offered only one option with risks I was unwilling to take. Highly incentivized to serious exploration of other treatment to avoid these risks led me to the REZUM procedure and eventually medical care from Faysal Yafi, M.D., and Judy Choi, M.D., at the UCI Dept. of Urology.
  
  Due to my age and medical history, Dr. Yafi, referred me to Dr. Choi for clinical and diagnostic testing to exclude other causes of urinary retention other than BPH. Although the referral to Dr. Choi confirmed that the most likely cause was enlarged prostrate, testing revealed serious kidney problems that would certainly lead to renal failure if not dealt with promptly and successfully. Once treatment improved and eradicated these problems I was cleared for the REZUM procedure with Dr. Yafi.
  
  The REZUM procedure was successful and I have been completely relieved from all of the horrendous symptoms of enlarged prostrate due to the care received from Dr. Yafi and Dr. Choi. Both doctors, although personable, were completely professional and generated confidence in the probable outcome of complete success. Dr. Yafi’s treatment via REZUM involved approximately an hour or two in the office and the actual REZUM procedure itself which could not have lasted more than 90 seconds. The relief from the symptoms of BPH began noticeably about 4-5 weeks following the procedure. Today I am living completely free of all of the symptoms of BPH and the restrictions in daily living that they once caused. The gratefulness for the treatment from Dr. Yafi and Dr. Choi is impossible of overstatement.

  Dr Yafi and the staff at UCI are incredible. I am so happy I found such a caring and professional team. Have had two surgeries with them and the results are amazing. Highly recommend them for any men with urological issues
