Great experience, clean and everything we needed! Thank you.
Simple, clean and functional Inn to stay or make as your base camp for the North Shore of Tahoe. No one on site. Self check in.
The pro: location, clean, great value, easy parking, and well located for walking to stuff in town.
The con: located right at the corner of busy N. Lake Blvd and residential Beaver street across from Brockway Springs resort. Traffic on N. Lake Blvd is flying into the east end of the town of Kings Beach before slowing down. This means lots of traffic noise. Warning for sound sensitive sleepers. I am not, so it didn't bother me. They do provide plenty of ear plugs and a stand up oscillating fan.
Yes, the previous reviews and the owner themselves clearly have stated no A/C on premises. So plan accordingly. It's not the owners fault if the weather happens to be bloody hot in July. It was a record breaking heatwave in Tahoe in July. Anyone not fortunate enough to book a place with A/C will find it unpleasant, especially if you don't wish to open the windows. Again note to sound sensitive sleepers. Again not the owners fault. I will say this, the new owners did an awesome job converting this former Hostel into a clean, simple affordable place to stay. Thanks!
There are 7 units. I stayed in unit #4 for a long weekend. Unit #1 is closest to N. Lake Blvd. Unit #6 is the farthest back from the road. Unit #7 seems to be pet friendly in a separate building from the other string of rooms and opposite unit #5 and 6. I heard a bark once. That's it. It's got a simple spot near the back with a picnic table. You will need to navigate uneven ground and stairs to get to your room. So, not really wheel chair accessible or luggage rolling friendly. Did I mention great location? I walked to the beach in minutes and ate at Caliente, a block away.
Staying here depends on what you're looking for. We just wanted a reasonably priced hotel in Kings Beach for 2 nights. We found it! It was VERY clean. Rooms are tiny and didn't even have a chair but we brought beach chairs and even sat outside the room and enjoyed the view. No one was onsite but we managed to get more coffee from the housekeeper in the morning. If you stay more than one night, why do they only give enough coffee for one? (One of my pet peeves in most hotels)? Curtains didn't keep out all of the light at night so if you're a sensitive sleeper, bring a sleep mask.
