“I must say that this by far the most honest auto repair facility that I have ever had the pleasure of working with. While on a business trip in the Apple Valley area, upon driving back home my car started running poorly. So rather than try and drive 50 plus miles I had it towed to Lovelands as they were one of AAA's preferred facilities in the area. The car was an Audi A5 and I was somewhat sceptical at first since they were not an Audi repair facility. As time went on they were able to diagnosis one of the problems with the vehicle which was the timing chain and associated tensioners. They also discovered that Audi had a recall on this item, but would not cover it since the vehicle was not at a Audi dealership and it had greater than 100k miles on it. Upon completing that scope of work, the vehicle was running better but still exhibited some problems and Loveland contacted Audi's technical support and the suggested other steps to take in order to remedy the problem. Meanwhile my repair bill was $3,200 and climbing. One thing that I need to mention was that this is post 3 months after the vehicle was towed there and lots of labor hours spent. So after the last recommendation from Audi technical support was to replace the oil pump. This is when I received my last critical phone call from John who at through this entire process kept me informed all the way through along with Angie who has such an endearing way of speaking and working with customers. John explained what Audi had recommended and left it up to me if they were to move forward which would have been an additional $800 plus. John also stated that they had spent so much time of the vehicle and expressed his concern as to spending anymore time. They didn't want to do the work and still not have it working properly which I greatly understand and appreciated his concerns. I declined to have anymore work performed by them and asked that they send a final bill. A week or so went by so I didn't have a chance to look at the final bill since I tend to travel alot until I returned. Upon opening the mail, and read through the bill, I was shocked in disbelief as to what I saw. The bill was for parts only and a note stating "no labor will be charged in good faith to the customer" This was truly a blessing and extremely rare. I would highly recommend Loveland Automotive in Victorville, even if it's a far drive but atleast you'd know that you'll be treating fairly and with respect. As for the Audi A5, well it's at an Audi shop now and from my research into this what is now a common problem with the 2.0 engine I will work on getting them to accept responsibility.
