    It’s a great place to go fishing, take photos, walk your pets , do you picnics, and ride kayaks. Be careful on the beach side, lots of broken glass on the rocks and on the path. In the summertime it’s exploding with fish. You can catch all sorts of species from shore. WARNING : ((do NOT go kayaking in the beachside lagoon with the oyster beds, and white Seabass hatchery.))

    The summer crowds are gone and so far almost all dogs are on a leash . This makes a perfect time for paddleboarders and local dog walkers not to have to fight for parking or a space on the sand or in the water. Bring your camera and you might catch a wind surfer.

    Epic different sort of coastal water and dog beach fun. Paddle boarding, wind sailing, kayaking, boating, family picnicing. Fishing. Fish jumping. Might even see a bat ray or two. Lots of coastal birds too.

    Terrible place if you are addicted to video games, otherwise its amazing!

The Agua Hedionda Lagoon Discovery Center is a nature center dedicated to environmental education and outreach. We are located on the eastern end of the Agua Hedionda Lagoon estuary and wetland area in Carlsbad.
