Such a fabulous local place to learn about nature and have fun with the kids. The one on one excursions are extremely affordable and the animals are so close it's like you can reach out and touch them. Also, there are so many things in the gift shop that are affordable...i wanted to buy everything. Living Coast is doing such a great and important job to preserve our local wildlife! I was truly impressed with everything. I will definitely be purchasing a membership! I can't wait to visit again.
I had a birthday party for my son there and I can't sing enough praises of that place! If you want a fun party without all the hassle of cleaning up, I'd recommend this place in a heart beat! The 2 hours of party was full education, fun (feeding the animals), and craft. In addition, the staff is very friendly and helpful. Nicole cleaned the whole place up. I wish they'd take gratuity. Anyway, go for a visit. Go for a party. Just go!
I work as a volunteer here and I can guarantee this place is worth a visit. It's cheap, has a beautiful atmosphere, and has one-of-a-kind staff that are kind and helpful. Great for kids as its educational and fun! They also host off-site events such as community clean-ups, hiking trips, and even kayaking! Be sure to ask at the front counter for more details as they're fun to be a part of!
We parked and got the shuttle in about 10 minutes. Seats were packed but there was standing room. Arrived and saw the giant tortoise swimming around. The aquariums inside has been updated and I really enjoyed the laid back atmosphere. The kids loved the petting pool with stingrays and mantra rays, as well as the large aquarium with sharks and fish. The park appeared to care more about the animals than displaying those animals for people, which I appreciated. It is a very small attraction, yet it was satisfying. I will definitely take the kids again!
A hidden gem on the Chula Vista coastline. One can do many things, and see quite a bit: fish, rays, sharks, eels, jellyfish, reptiles, birds... just so much. I have been an annual member for eight years. My daughters LOVE this place. The Discovery center is all about conservation and education. If you have kids, this is the place to go (12 and under best). They partner with The Zoo, and Birch Aquarium as well. The best value is the annual pass. Enjoy!!!
