In today's world, heinous physical crimes against older people also happen. It's not only assault to rob, or hate crimes that tend to happen against older people. Earplugs, headphones, buds, and cell phones when walking, running, or biking-- eliminates situational awareness. Older people who continue their life-long habit of prioritizing safety by not using devices outdoors value feeling more secure from any crime. More people need to practice it and make it their new habit. Like in every other area or neighborhood in our country--one just doesn't know, cannot take for granted or should not repeatedly practice the simplest things that can bring harm or bad behavior from another person. We need to remind each other of simple things like this, since so many have stopped listening or reading the news.

I called Oceanside CHP for a Vin problem with my car, they put me in touch with Officer Stromer.
He was all business and I was afraid I was in for a hard road., after he let me explain my situation to him,
We were like old friends. He let me know he was booked solid, he fit me in. At the appointment he was helpful and professional. I got what I needed and could not have been easier.
Very grateful to have public servants like this man.
