“Great spot for sushi on the beach. Rolls are all in the $16-$18 range and tasty, with a good bit of spice. The atmosphere and the view are the two things why you should come here, as you sit above the boardwalk and all the craziness below. There might be a bit of a wait on weekends as expected, but we found it was well worth it. The weeknights we came here, we were seated right away, but the place got busier as the night progressed. If you're in Mission Beach and looking for dinner with a view, this is the spot.”

“Convenient spot for a quick and yummy meal. The service and prep are fast. Not a huge selection of options, but you cannot beat the boardwalk location. Very good corn tortillas that stand up to generous portions of ingredients without falling apart. The carnitas was fantastic. The fish was okay and certainly good enough for the price. But don’t expect grouper or high-end fish.. more like fried white fish that’s mildly flavored. Definitely would recommend for a quick bite to eat.”

“This place is absolutely beautiful. Perfect location for a sunset, sunrise and even a walk/job/skate to the boarwalk. Everything you need is within walking distance.The rooms are clean and view is spectacular. There is plenty of room inside for guests to feel comfortable. You can literally walk 10 feet from the back onto the beach. I would stay here again.”

“This wildlife sanctuary is worth its admission. Parking is free and at the entrance to the preserve with a quick bus ride in. The docents and staff were fantastic and personable. They answered all of our questions and were great with kids. Bring a picnic lunch and water bottles as there is no food on site beyond snacks at the gift shop. There are plenty of picnic tables. The animal interactions and learning are top-notch. It was a fun half-day adventure with plenty of views and limited crowds.”

“I have been meditating on and off for several years. I have looked into various communities and I’ve never quite found my home. I considered myself in a spiritual buffet for all these years, taking little bites here and there of different practices. Nothing I have found so far has made me want to really dive deeper in. Part of this was because of the rigidity and the formality of these different practices. From the moment I walked in the door of the Dharma Center, all feelings of pretentiousness, and structure that made me feel a bit of unease at other locations was nowhere to be found. Comfort at once. Belonging without having to try, to say the right things, dress a certain way, etc. I’ve found my clubhouse. I’ve found a place where I want to go, not where I feel obligated to go. I am getting to finally have that sense of community that I have missed while I was struggling through my own meditation practice, alone. Whether you have practiced meditation for a long time or just starting to journey through your own spiritual buffet, I highly suggest you stop by and take a bite of what Dharma Center has to offer. “Decent hotel. Not very fancy for the price you pay but you are paying for the ability to walk right onto the beach. Room was small but cozy. AC didnt work but hotel fixed it pretty quick for us. Staff was all very nice! Love that they have a outside wash off station so you can wash all the sand off of you from the beach before entering your room. This will always be our go to hotel when we go to Ocean Beach. Only hotel that I can walk across the street and be on the beach. With 4 kids this amenity is very important for us.”
