“A five star rating for Sunrise San Mateo is well deserved. Having had my mother in an assisted living home prior, I have the ability to compare. In my opinion there is no comparison. My mother came to Sunrise San Mateo in Hospice. The care she has received from the staff is incredible. They pay attention to detail and actually care about my mother. They coordinate with Hospice and I truly do no worry about my Mother now that she is there. I know that if even the slightest incident takes place, i.e., a small cut on the hand, I receive a phone call immediately. The residents are friendly, welcoming and very happy. It's a smaller facility so it is easier for people to get to know one another. They have activities taking place all of the time. I believe a great Assisted Living Facility is 'great' because the care starts at the top. The Executive Director, Director of Sales, nursing staff, and the care staff all have the right attitude. They are responsive, friendly and get to know the residents AND their families. I highly recommend Sunrise San Mateo and am grateful my Mom is there”
