I feel luck to have visited this park. The trails and docks are well kept. We enjoyed exploring the trails, island and museum. This is a residential park and you need to either live close by or be escorted by a resident. There is another way to enter by walking in through the Open Space trail. It requires some research.
Beautiful peaceful feeling in the morning listening and watching the many different types of birds and wildlife.
Very nice park.
But unfortunately you need to have a friend that is a Palo Alto resident.
A serene and picturesque getaway, with a nice calm lake and windy paths. It's never been crowdy when I visited, but It does require an ID showing residency requirements (see website). There is a tent campground with portable toilets and dumpsters available for rental between May and October.
Love Foothills Park for the quiet and scenic views. Baronda lake is so tranquil and the wildlife is visible from many locations. I have taken some beautiful photos here and love the friendly rangers who keep the park in open all year long.
