Nola's Iris Garden - located in the San Jose foothills on Sierra Road. About five acres of beautiful bearded iris, along with horse boarding facility. Nola was there greeting people, and graciously answering questions from everyone. They have a covered open patio with chairs and benches overlooking the gardens and view of the valley below. You may bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the afternoon, take as many photos as you want..this is free and open to the public for a few months in Spring. You may add your email to their mailing list, and may purchase irises after the season is over. I believe there were light refreshments, and you may make a donation in appreciation of your experience. We donated 10.00...well worth it!! Thank you Nola for sharing a little piece of heaven.
Only open 2 months of the year.. wonderful lady lives there.. beautiful flowers..
An amazing facility. I went to buy Iris bulbs. Beautiful horses all over the place.
I think it has been renamed as Chaparral Ranch. Visited the farm and saw a number of different farm animals, such as horses, a cow calf, chicken, turkey, some goats. Our daughter rode on a pony, and enjoyed it a lot. Note that horse riding is only for kids aged 2 and above. Overall good experience and worth the 1.5 hour walking on the farm. We recommend doing all you can to protect yourself from the sun, as there is not a lot of shade. The soil is pretty dry and when the wind blows, some dirt is dispersed in the air, and our little girl coughed a little.
Spectacular view with breathtaking blooming iris in the foreground. I felt free to walk about at my pace. No one hurried me, but Nola made sure to greet every visitor and answer questions for them. There are plenty of beautiful spots to have a picnic, which I did. I loved the whole experience.
