  I went here twice to apply for new passports (1st time for my kids, 2nd time for me). So here is what i know:
  
  - people who want to renew passports are told to go home and mail in their application. No service is provided for renewal cases.
  
  - The office opens at 10am, closes at 12:15pm for lunch. And opens again at 2pm in the afternoon. Each shift they will serve a certain number of applications (depending on the number of staff works that day). My guess around 30-50 people/ shift.
  
  - to avoid waiting in a long line, dont come in the morning, especially on Mondays. The first time i came in the morning, i waited in line for over 1 hour. After the office opened, i had to wait for 1 more hour inside until our ticket was called. Then we spent about 30’ for the paperworks to be photocopied and processed.
  
  - The second time, i came in the afternoon. 30’ before the office opened after lunch. There were only 1 person in line. i could have just show up 10’ ahead instead. And the process time were only 10’ because i had my documents photocopied and ready ahead:
  
  * filled out form
  * original driver license + 1 copy
  * original citizenship or US birth certificate + 1 copy
  * You’ll also need 2 ID photos. If you dont, you can pay $16 for the staff to take photos and print out right at the spot.
  
  Then, i paid the application fee $145 (no-rush service option). i got my pp in the mail within 10 days (including weekend).
  
  The staff who served us are nice and polite. The working pace here is slow. And that’s the way they are. You have to accept it.

  This is a review for the passport office on the side. Both times I went this year, the staff were friendly, helpful, and efficient. Made renewing my passport easy and stress-free. There were a lot of people on the Friday, however.
