“If your child is serious about learning and getting good at math, Random Math is a great place to be. The curriculum is challenging yet adaptive to a student's progress. For example, for a student who is really advanced, his results will show and he will be moved to the next level to learn tougher and newer concepts. For students who can use some extra time to firm up their understanding, there is no pressure to move up because the goal is to learn and improve. The results of the school show and I have been happy with our choice because the goal we have set for our son has been met year after year.”

“We are so grateful for Teacher Meg and Salamander School! Highly recommended!!! I had been looking for a drop-off nature program for my daughter to supplement her coop preschool (she is 4) and I am so happy this school exists. I wish it had been around when my older child was in preschool. There is nothing else like Salamander School in the South Bay... SF and Berkeley and other places in the Bay have forest preschools, but not in SJ or the South Bay until Salamander (well, since Leaping Lizards closed). Since the school is relatively new, it is such an intimate experience, and would continue to be so even at capacity. I always find my child happily in a tree when I come to pick her up. My daughters feels so connected to the animals she encounters at forest preschool and talks about them after school. She is more confident and has a longer stamina for being on "hikes" since we started with Teacher Meg. I am learning facts about nature from her (that I didn't know before!) when we hike on our own! When I'm feeling rushed, my daughter helps remind me to pick up trash, to be compassionate and good stewards of Mother Earth. Teacher Meg is intentional, passionate, and thorough. She is calm and patient with the children and songs, stories, and large chunks of time for free play are all in support of their learning and development. We looked into Waldorf (and there was much we loved about it) but ended up at another school. Much of the Salamander curriculum is influenced by Waldorf early childhood education theories and I'm so grateful my daughter gets to experience it. If you are family that values time in nature, and want to foster the love of land in children, I highly recommend contacting Teacher Meg. You first spend time at the park to see if it's a good match for your child and family. Please research all the health and learning benefits of children in nature! (Look up the works of Richard Louv, for example.)”

“I joined PCS, unsure at first and contemplating a career move. You will find the teachers Janna, Olga, Sofia, Michael and Artem, who have solid knowledge of their subjects, will guide well. You will most likely be also helped by Sofia who looks out for you once you start applying. The internship, offered at the end of the class, will give you sound experience that makes the transition to the real job a bit more manageable. “We love this school. I enrolled her during pandemic and they provided online class and toy/art material pick up day. Their art activities are process oriented, creative and fun. We had so much fun things together even while we stuck at home. Their play area is big and safe enough to have a whole morning session when in person class started. All the teachers are loving, caring and patient. They always use positive words that has a magic to solve the problems. Not only my daughter I enjoy the school. “This school was so nice, I had made so many friends and still in contact with two of my best friends from this school:) this school was so nice but the last year I was at the school it was ehh, I missed the old staff and the old principal it was really fun, but they got new staff and they're more idk, not fun? I just really miss the 2015-2017 era of this school. Overall, it's a nice school and the education it's pretty good and they're kinda strict so if you consider bringing ur child here plz do!! Some people are mean though”

“Over the Rainbow has been on my radar for about 4 years - I'm in a mom's group where it's been mentioned a bunch since I joined. All positive comments :). My daughter comes home very happy each day and looks forward to going to school each morning. We get lots of pictures each day of the kids during their activities - all seem quite engaged and happy. Regarding covid - I have not interacted with many families (we've been attending since July 15) but everyone I have seen dropping their kids off is wearing a mask and sanitizes their hands before approaching the front door. Adults do not go inside. The teachers always have their mask on and I think the kids are washing their hands a lot from how my daughter talks about it. Lauren has asked that we do not travel outside of the state and to keep kids home if we have any out of state visitors. Over the Rainbow feels like an extension of our family. We feel very lucky to have our daughter there!”
