“Kym Ng is both a prolific musician, and a prolific teacher. In fact when it comes to teaching...she is the most unique teacher I have seen. Long Story Short: Kym can teach music in a very engaging way, which makes the student enjoy the piano, bond with the instrument and learn how to play it... in that order. She has extraordinary patience to deal with a cranky kid after a long day of school, and even in that mode engage them to the lesson. She uses a combination of creative methods and tools to teach. While I think SimplyMusic as a philosophy is great, I think the magic that is working with my son is more to do with the unique style of Miss Kym. After starting piano lessons in his pre-school at early age of 4, my son started to lose complete interest in Piano when we moved to Almaden. Attempts to start him with new teachers failed, since they always went by the age old books, which are good but boring (I never had an attention span to go through them, and I certainly don't expect a 5 year old too). It took a while for him to come back to the piano, but now at home he will remind himself to play the piano daily, and ask me to play with him, or watch. We are fortunate to have such an amazing teacher.”
