BEAUTIFUL spot. Nice and short giant redwoods loop. Visitors center staff is helpful explaining science to children. Gift shop is nothing spectacular. Incredible trees to see here and there is no need to drive 5hrs into Yosemite valley
A great representation of a state park and steward of the great American Redwood tree. It is a great recreational spot for bikers, hikers, and sight seers alike. Being so close to Santa cruz and the coast makes the experience even more surreal walking amongst the giant growth. The park staff were all friendly and helpful during my visit.
Absolutely wonderful and magical. It's the best place to find quiet and regeneration among the wisdom of the trees. Come in the morning of course to catch the beautiful light of the sun between the trees!
Simply amazing! The Henry Cowell State Park is a great snapshot of the Redwoods. The Redwood Grove loop trail is 0.8 miles long and includes 14 informational stops along the way detailing many interesting facts and histories about the Redwoods. The scale of these living giants is hard to comprehend. I took my young family with a stroller no problem. A very flat trail affords easy waking.
To appreciate nature and it’s beauty, this park is a must visit. There are trees hundreds and sometimes even thousands of years old to see here.
The one trail we hiked, was called the Redwood Grove Trail. It takes about 45 minutes and gives you a good overview of some of the greatest trees this park has to offer. There are other trails available for those interested in a longer duration
