“Amazingly beautiful! The views are breathtaking. The rooms are spacious, clean and relaxing. 5 minute walk to the beach yet set in peaceful seclusion. The staff are so friendly and helpful. I love it. I would say it's definitely my favorite spot.”

“Peaceful Zen GEM Liked · On arrival the lady who greeted us was so welcoming & gave us an upgrade because they weren't full, she said this was customary if they had room, luck for us that they did. We liked that it was in a neighborhood with houses & very quite away from the town but still walking distance to all that you needed.i This is not hotel rooms, it is cottages of different sizes to suit all set in beautiful gardens. Our cottage had a beautiful draped bed with a seating area & table/chairs where we had our continental breakfast that was amazing, fruit, granola, yogurt & pastries. The bathroom was huge with bath & shower, beautiful marble. The cottages are on a cliff overlooking the Ocean, there are steps & a path leading down but sadly we didn't have time to explore that as it was raining when we there in Dec. We definitely will be returning to this amazing Gem. Disliked · The rain on the evening we stayed because we couldn't walk down on the beach in the morning. Next time we won't go in Dec, saying that it is usually a good time to go.”

“Paradox is a really beautiful venue for a gathering, work related events & certainly a wedding reception or other. I attended an event and did not stay over so my opinion is limited. That's said I thunk it's a beautiful property with a lot to offer. It's minutes from sand & surf, (even walking.) The front desk folks were truly lovely. Food was quite excellent. A deeply joyful occasion influenced this, so take what you will from the photos & my words.”

“I am still pinching myself that we were able to have our wedding at Sand Rock Farm. Sand Rock Farm is truly such a magical place! Jen and Derek are amazing and you can tell they truly love the property and being incredible hosts. Whether you are staying at a room in Sand Rock Farm or attending a wedding there, you will be treated to impeccable service and hospitality, all in an enchanting setting. I first found Sand Rock Farm when looking for redwood wedding venues in the Bay Area, but I immediately fell in love with the ceiling-less barrel room instead. The beautiful old stone walls are covered with ivy and string lights strung across complete the effect. The barrel room is hands down my favorite part of the venue, but literally everywhere you walk is picturesque. There’s charming furniture in the bed and breakfast, an arch covered with wisteria vines, a garden filled with beautiful old-fashioned garden roses, and so much more. We had our intimate (less than 30 people!) ceremony and reception in the barrel room and Derek catered the food… which was incredible! I’m a wedding photographer, so I have actually had quite a bit of wedding dinners, but I would have to say our wedding dinner was the best I have ever had!! The flavors were amazing, everything was cooked perfectly. All of our guests raved about the food, especially my grandmother who literally said she had never had a better meal in her life. I cannot recommend Sand Rock Farm enough and highly highly recommend having your intimate wedding there!! It was perfect and a huge part of the best weekend of our lives. Thank you Jen and Derek!! You guys are amazing!!”

“No complaints, staff was knowledgeable and accommodating, the room was spacious, clean, HVAC system was great. Furnishings are a little dated but in very good condition. The bed was so comfortable! There is a little store across the street and food can also be ordered or brought in. I would rather pay the very reasonable price at Days Inn and use the extra money to explore Columbus than pay $150 to sleep. There was a discrepancy on my bill because I kept changing the reservation and it was taken care of with one quick phone call. We’re ready to go back, we needed a few more days to experience it all.”

“Wife and I needed a place to crash on a road trip from Los Angeles to Napa. Chaminade popped up on our radar and we booked. This place is exceptionally charming. The grounds are beautiful, naturally (being in Santa Cruz), but the forest drive to the entrance still enchants each time. The staff is as friendly as one could ask for. They directed us to an awesome pizzeria on Pacific for dinner (Pizza My Heart). This stopover in Santa Cruz itself, as well as Chaminade was random, but we’ll be returning specifically to stay here.”

“Great place for a weekend getaway. The campsites were good size and most of them are relatively private. The bathrooms were always clean. Just bring your own soap and towels, they only stock toilet paper. And stay on the maintained trails because the brush is thick with poison oak. I was a little worried at first because I'm highly allergic to poison oak but I had no issues. Just stay on the paths. I would also definitely recommend taking the short 1 mile hike to Cable Car Beach. It's a beautiful hike to a nice place to chill in the river. Pack a picnic and enjoy the day there. (Just remember there are no dogs allowed in the river and no alcohol either)”

“I and my family have been coming to this campground for over 10 years, with RV's and/ or tent camping. We have generally always found the staff to be friendly, and the sites and grounds well kept. Pricing is reasonable, and the area is stunningly beautiful with easy quick access to the forest, river, trains, beach, etc. So the bathrooms are older, but they are clean and functional. Safe area for kids to ride bikes and go on hikes, plus they have a separate building next to the pool with ping pong, a pool table, and a few video games for the kids. We have enjoyed this spot with 3 generations of our family and will continue to come back.”
