“Stairs down to an observation deck. Two sets of falls, upper and lower-- each about twenty feet tall Easy access. Many unusual ferns dot the cliffs adjoining the falls.”

“I had a really nice hike here: a loop of Basin Trail and Hollow Tree Trail, 10 miles, moderate difficulty. Will on average be 3,5 hours net travel time. I parked at the side of the road where 236 (lovely road/driving as well) and Boulder Creek meet. You can also start from the parking at the end of China Grade Road or from Lane-Sunset Trail Camp.”

“Nice getaway from the busy city! Was pleasantly surprised by this park considering how close it is to the cramped South Bay area. The are always lots of cars, as expected for an awesome place not too far away. However, it doesn't feel like there are lots of people around or on the trails since they are spread out nicely. Well maintained trail system and lots of climbing options. This is a local rock climbers Oasis. The parking lot is pricey and almost always full. However, you can park for free along part of the road. A NOTE TO ANIMAL LOVERS: there are no dogs allowed on the trails. Sorry... (If this review was helpful, please hit the like button below)”

“I was glad to have an opportunity to visit Dan’s grove on a recent trip to CA. It’s a great memorial to a great guy, and I enjoyed seeing the park he loved. Thanks to whoever put it on Google Maps.. I don’t think we would have found it otherwise. The walking directions lead right to the spot. The cell service is spotty up there, so be sure to figure out directions before you head up.”

“This is a great Campground if you're looking to do a two-day sea to Summit backpack trip. Or just a simple backpacking trip in the Portola redwoods or big Basin Redwoods State Parks. Keep in mind there is no water at this Campground. Fortunately we were there after the recent rains and were able to pump water off the side of the road from a ditch. Without this ditch we would have had to hike two miles to opal Creek to pump water. We used a great guy for a shuttle service and paid him $100 a person. Feel free to message me if you would like his contact information for a shuttle.”

“Very Serene, very beautiful. It's like 30 minutes from silicon valley but feels like your in a remote mountain/for area. Drive up to hwy35 - hwy9 intersection, spend time at the vista points, enjoy!”
