Doran Regional Park

Beautiful soft sandy beach with a rock jetty blocking larger waves. This beach is very safe if you have young children that like to play by the shore. It is a regional Park so you have to purchase a day pass to enter. Dogs on leash are welcome here. Clean, plumbed bathrooms are at each parking area and their are also several picnic benches, BBQ pits and outdoor showers for hosing off the sand at the end of the day. This is a great beach for a fun family day.

A thin strip of coastal dunes separating Bodega Bay from the Pacific Ocean makes up this very popular Sonoma County Park. The park features camping, a boat ramp for launching into Bodega Bay and a mile long broad beach for sunbathing and play. The spit faces the open ocean so the water can be rough at times and cold all the time. Exercise caution.
Camping reservations recommended. Day use fee. Parking fills early up on summer weekends. Bathrooms. No showers. Pets okay on leash.

Must get there early for day use as the park fills up quickly. Once they are at full capacity, the rangers will turn you away and then you have to decide if you want to turn back around to get in line to wait or try another park. We were lucky this day as we got right in at 10:30am. Parking was easy to find and the beach was a short walk away. Dogs are allowed on leashes. Great place for collecting sea shells including sand dollars.

This is where you must be for a California summer vacation. The beach and the surrounding is absolutely breathtaking. This is a very family-friendly Beach and people bring their dogs here as well. Kids would have a lot of fun climbing the rocks looking for starfish, crabs we even spotted sea lions. Next time I'm going to to some camping here, plenty of grounds for that purpose.

I stayed at campsite #5 on 3/15/2019

The weather was perfect and the neighbors were nice. This specific campsite had a nice little "cave like" experience. If you walk down the path and make a right you will see an opening that leads into a tree covered area to relax. It was a pretty cool experience.

There isn't a place to hang up a hammock, there wasn't shade at your campsite but all in all it was a nice place.

I already booked another campsite #105, when I was there I noticed this one and it is right on the water. I will update my review once I stay.
