“I want to start off by saying thank you to the wonderful people at quail valley. They made our stay so awesome and really enjoyable. People can complain all that they want about prices, but I have camped at many campsites and this has everything you need. No wifi which who cares it’s nature! And also, has plug in for electricity which is honestly a plus. The campsites are very clean and the grass is always nice and cut. Best $75 bucks I have spent! Sometimes the good things in life cost money. Thank you Quail valley my family and I are very grateful and will be looking forward to coming back. California hot springs in general is a great place to be specially in the winter time.”

“A true hidden gem of a campground. We loved our stay and will definitely be back. Very beautiful and at night the stars are incredible. Be prepared, no on-site water and the campsites are a bit close together and have slope. As long as you know these details and are ok with it, you will love it. The camp host was lovely and the scenery can’t be beat.”

“The campground was very clean and the grounds keeper and store clerk was awesome. This was our first time out in our new to us RV to try things out. Charlie was so full of knowledge and very helpful. If I only 1 issue it was the campers across the way playing music way to loud, but remember I was young once too. Still should have been more respectful to others”

“Absolutely beautiful city park. 1/2 mile loop with slight hills. Very nice playground, and even a full basketball court. No bathrooms, very doggy friendly though!”

“Was a great place to camp! Wish we had a bear box in place. There is no running water so pack accordingly! Also apparently the fire pit closer to the bigger bathroom is historical and you're not supposed to use it.”

“You know... there have been complaints of homeless hanging out. We saw them. They mind their own business. The real disappointment were the moms with kids who allowed their kids to leave empty drink containers. Overall the park is well kept and it's quiet.”

“Stayed in an RV here. Excellent sites with fire pit, fairly easy to maneuver inside the park, very friendly and excellent staff. All RV sites come with a picnic table and fire pit. Quiet, friendly park. My ONLY issue was the hot water in the showers took about 5 mins to come on and the water pressure was terrible.”

“Birds! This is a great place for birdwatching. Today we saw American Avocets, Sandhill Cranes, Cinnamon Teals, Tricolored Blackbirds and many more! Don't miss Kern NWR while in the area, we saw different birds there on the same day.”

“This park is so much fun! I loved the little trail that goes around the park. They have 2 little parks here. One for 5 and under and one for bigger kids. Lots of things to climb on, swings, picnic tables etc. I loved that they had a smaller park so my toddler could play and not get knocked down by bigger kids. Also the park has a shade canopy so you can play even when it's hot. Loved it!”

“This campground and state park is very clean, the employees are very nice and helpful. The community behind the park is very passionate about making this park better and more exciting to visit in the near future. There is lots of wildlife, clean showers and great building to tours.”

“I'm originally from Charleston South Carolina and got an itch to go camping while out here for work. One of my students of whom I was teaching recommended Sequoia National Forest as a place to start. I've always wanted to see redwoods and since I'm here for 3 weeks and have nothing left to do on the weekends, I decided to make this place my choice. I hopped on the app and kind of searched around and found a few places I like but frog Meadows kind of stood out. It took approximately four and a half hours from Oxnard to get there. Once I arrived in some small town I began my truck upside the mountain. The roads were definitely windy and excessive speed is not recommended as there are many blind turns. Once you get up to the point where you're entering the campgrounds there is about, I think around an hour and a half worth on dirt roads. The dirt road is very narrow and decides to go down to a steep degrade. But that view tho was incredible. I arrived in a car, so the road wasn't that bad.”

“The dinning area is really nice. Very family friendly. A little on the expensive side but not going to blow your budget. Didn't have many ice cream flavors at the moment but since it's close to summer that might change. Liked the gift shop, had tons of cute items such as: toys for kids, candy tons of candy, funny postcards, and tons of items to remember your trip to Traver. They had some animals: a llama, a goat, 2 donkeys, 2 chickens, a pig, 3 bunnies, 2 quails (I think),a parakeet?, and a PEACOCK 🦚!! The only thing I don't like is that you can't really interact with many of the animals, it's understandable for the safety of the children, but it would be better to get a little closer. Really nice area to spend a couple of hours with your family. I'm Carlos Dominguez, and I approve this message. 👌”

They have taken all the amenities of camping and made the not so pleasant parts a pleasure.... it has everything at your disposal from rafts to bikes to swim shoes just a nice experience all around. “We go camping here to Kern River EVERY YEAR THUS FAR! God willing , for years to come . It's tradition , river has its ups and downs , but a good place to start tradition ! Depending on when you go, it might be packed . Make sure you bring EXTRA SUNBLOCK, just when you think you have enough brig another bottle or 3. Oh and check the water level prior to going. Bring rope , for rescuing someone if needed:)”

“We camped with another couple at a nearby campground and came here our second day. Pros: -It was great to use a real bathroom. -They also have showers in the locker rooms. -Their mini store has odds and ends we wound up needing. -Salted Caramel Ice Cream was delicious -The main pool felt great. -Did not smell sulfuric and water was super soft -Free water was available in the store for swimmers. -Perfect for the day after a hike to sooth muscles. -Had no issues with staff. Other reviews mentioned bad attitudes and discrimination. We were a mixed group of races. The ladies were not overly nice but weren't rude either. They were very matter of fact but I tend to like that about people. Other Facts: -We went on a hot day, bring sandals to wear up to the waters edge. We burned our feet. -$20 per person to swim -Hot Tub closer to the road seemed much hotter -They do not allow dogs (even well behaved on a leash tied up). This is a great stop, especially for anyone camping at one of the dry campgrounds like we did. It may not be the Hilton of hot springs for some, but for us, it was perfect! Thank you for a great time, we'll be back.”

“Stayed with friends at spots 18 and 19 in early October. We had sites closest to the main road which turned out to still be pretty quiet. We could hear the Kern River down below, and an easy minute or so walk down proved worth it. There was a bit of foot traffic by fisherman down the path behind these campsites, otherwise they were very private and were roomy with plenty of privacy. Bathrooms were close and fairly well-maintained, and a short walk away was the "Croc Rock" which was a fun surprise. Highly recommended!”

“We stayed in the small campground attached to the historic park. We were the only occupied spot, so we had wonderful morning and evening walks. Sunsets were awesome. If you really want to get away from it all, this is the place. We would give it 5 stars if it had hookups and dependable water supply.”

“It was such a nice & clean place for a break. Kids had fun! You can feed the animals, they have this huge tree house, slides, Tesla electric charging station. We might stop by on our way back to get some wine and cheese. 🙂”

“I Love camping here with my family and friends. We Love it soo much that we had to go visit for the day. 3 to 4 hours driving to get there, but it's worth it. I can't wait to go camping in July this year. We been going camping here for years, but we had stopped going for a few years for personal reasons. Time to get back. Beautiful place ❤🏕”

“This is an interesting RV park. Sites are grass with gravel drives. It is kid and dog friendly. There are possibly long term campers here but this is generally well maintained. I would do an overnight here again.”
