The Beach Hotel at Pt. Mugu is a wonderful, low key place to stay in Ventura county.
Very good facilities and full hook ups. We've been here for 3 day weekends on several occasions. Staying 30 days because of a relocation situation. Landscaping has deteriorated a lot over the last year and the daily rate jumped dramatically from $30 to $40 per day. That's a 33% jump. I think $35 would have been more appropriate. Ants are still terrible but spraying home defense around your tires and items touching the ground keeps them in control. Overall, it's a good stop and place to hang out.
It's very nice with grass and paved parking pads. The ocean is close and there are lots of things to do in the area. Oxnard is just minutes away with nice beaches.
They have a lot of rules...more than any military installation I have stayed at.
They have 2 fenced in dog parks. My little dog enjoyed being off the leash . I would stay again.
My husband enjoyed the (free) Seabees museum . Lighthouse is open for tours only on the 3rd sat of the month .
