“A great way to kick-start healthier life habits. If you can shoulder the cost, the experience is well worth it. The staff is very positive and encouraging; the coastline and mountains are serene; and the diet + exercise leave you feeling fantastic by the weeks' end. One should definitely follow their preparation advice once enrolled. Those in my group who did not suffered unnecessarily. I would also advise using wool hiking socks and a size-larger pair of shoes to avoid blisters during the ~10 miles of hiking per day which is part of their program.”

“Love the scrub oaks because it's centered-ish in Hungry Valley and usually sheltered somewhat from the wind. Not the best for big motorhomes. Photos are a trail down the road and camp.”

“Visit regularly and bathrooms very clean and stocked. Nice ramp you can back up to load and unload your bikes. Nice gazebo over table and fire pits nice for daily or camping. Some don't obey 15mph or helmet laws and rangers will and should give you ticket. It's called being courteous to others in area. Always cooler in summer and can get snow in winter as well as wind. No grass but still nice. Little kid track across street and four wheeling park down road. Trails for all levels from site. Can ride to Frazier Park if you find correct trails.”

“One of our favorite hikes in LA (Malibu). Highest point in the Santa Monica Mountains. Make sure you sign the book inside the bust. Best time is towards sunset but you will be hiking down in the dark. Be careful rocky terrain. 1.5 miles from parking lot to top. 3 miles round trip.”

“For our need, visiting family living close to Thousand Oaks BW+, the accommodations were just fine, we were there only to sleep & eat breakfast. The furniture is dated but in good condition yet the overall decor is tolerable & the other room amenities were good. Breakfast was slightly disappointing. We felt it wasn’t on the same level as other Best Western Pluses where we have stayed, yet again tolerable.”
