“As far as hotels go, this place is doing pretty well. It is one of the few hotels that has a bar and restaurant, even if the offerings are slim. It is nicely located near the mall, so if you need to do some shopping, it is working walking distance. The rooms are nice, I recently stayed in a single King suite. The entrance to the room is separated from the rest of the suite, and acts like an office of sorts. If you need to work from your hotel room, it would make an ideal makeshift cubicle. The bedroom was on the other side of the bathroom, so it was nice and quiet even with the TV in the front room on. The bed is nice and comfortable, and everything was fairly clean. Overall, this hotel is definitely on my "return visit" list.”

“Decent motel. Not fancy, but a basic motel with fridge and microwave in room. They also have a pool and breakfast. Plenty of breakfast options available. The rooms are kind of small. Just enough room for one person to walk through. We were three and it was a bit crowded.”

“My family and I stayed here in Dec 2020, I loved this hotel! Rooms are very homey and clean, bathrooms walls are nice calacatta marble, hotel stuff especially manager Christal is super nice and patient. All the hotel buildings are all like 2-story houses so you don't need to go through elevators or long hall way to find your room, parking is easy too (Ground level parking right nearby your room), you feel you are like in your own house!”

“Golden West Lodge is literally right off the 5 Freeway. This in my humble opinion makes it golden. A little pun on words. The Golden West Lodge does not have valet parking or valet or even room service. The rooms are clean and comfortable. I won't say how much the rates are but I do find the prices fair. There is plenty to do in the immediate area such as shopping, restaurants, Bowers Museum, Discovery Center and even the local Santa Ana Zoo. There's something for everyone in this area so if you're bored you can only blame yourself. A lot of the local citizens stay at the Golden West Lodge. So if you like to meet people or instead just people-watch this is a good place to do both. I hope this review helps you out.”
