“Great views, medium experience hike. We only went 4 miles up about half way to the summit. Made the round trip 8 miles in about 3 hours and 45 minutes.... it was great. Nov is not too cold yet but definitely bring water and snacks if your going to go even to the half way point. Can't wait to go for the San Bernardino peak.”

“The smell of pine after its been its raining is very refreshing, the scenery is relaxing especially if you're tired of seeing the same buildings over and over. The drive alone for me is one way to clear my head of anything and everything I once had before on my mind. Great place to visit for a weekend getaway or just to do something different doesn't matter either way their's plenty of different things to do alone or with friends or family. Fishing, hiking, boating, camping, wildlife, and just the scenery could keep you busy for days.”

Clark's Ranch Yellow Post Site

Address: 7 Pines Rd, Angelus Oaks, CA 92305, USA

Campground Lodging Park

“Apple's and berries with a rough road. This historical area has to do with the early days of roads to the mountain. The McHaney brothers, James and William built a cabin on Deer Creek in 1876. Later the site of Clark's Ranch. The well-beaten foot path for miners and anglers passed this area in the very early days of mountain exploration. Hiram Clark of Clark's Ranch and 13 Redlands business men incorporated the Bear Valley Redlands toll road company. Clark homesteaded 160 acres in 1892 at the cabin built by the McHaney brothers and stayed for many years. This site is located on the north slope of the Santa Ana Canyon, about 3 miles west of Seven Oaks.”

Mojave National Preserve Headquarters

Address: 2701 Barstow Rd, Barstow, CA 92311, USA

Park

“If visiting Mojave National Preserve, or just interested in getting information about the area, a stop here at the Park's Headquarters in Barstow is an excellent start. Inside, NPS employees can help answer questions about your visit. Given the desolate nature of the Preserve, this is a great place to get relevant and timely information. At 1.6 million acres of protected wilderness, Mojave National Preserve is immense. Once inside the park's boundaries, there are few places to obtain help, if needed. The Preserve does have two visitor centers -- Kelso Depot and Hole-in-the Wall. But with multiple entrances and the fact that the visitor centers are NOT located at (or even close to) any of these entrances, one would be wise to have a good map if you plan to visit the Preserve. Be well prepared if you choose to visit the Mojave Desert during the intense heat of the summer months. Besides a good map, have plenty (I mean PLENTY) of water. Also, there is no cell phone coverage within the Preserve. Besides an information counter, a small bookstore is also located within the Mojave National Preserve Headquarters building. It’s a great place to start any local desert adventure.”

“This was our first ti.e camping here. There are 3 different types of campsites: regular, premium, RV hookup. We went with the regular site for $35. It wasnt bad. We had to move the wooden picnic table so our tent could fit on the grassy area and not on the concrete driveway.. so that's a negative. We got to hear the ocean all day/night long!! ”

Chanticleer Ave Park

Address: 1975 Chanticleer Ave, Santa Cruz, CA 95062, USA

Park

“The park was a welcome surprise. It is the best park in the county by a large margin. It is incredibly well designed with thought given to creativity, interaction and disabled access. The equipment includes many different climbing and play structures, bridges, slides, swings, spinners, tractors, musical instruments (chimes, xylophone and drum) and tiny houses. When we visited, about two hundred children were there. The equipment ably catered for such a large number. The kids were having an amazing time. My child played there for three hours and did not want to go home. The park also includes an open grassed area, picnic tables, an off-leash dog park and a bike track. I thoroughly recommend it.”
