“Absolute delight! Way off the beaten track but a beautiful view of the ocean, next to another country in which we share a common area that salutes the absolute corner of the US. It is a beautiful park but looks forgotten. Very peaceful place in he middle of chaos.”

“The view from here is amazing! You have to come check it out!!! The hang gliders are super close you can say hi in a normal tone and hear each other. It's definitely a great wedding or any type of picture spot, with the open ocean background. Fyi, you have to park on the street and walk on a dirt trail, so if taking pics in long dresses or heels, nice shoes, bring something to walk in, they will get super dusty. No bathrooms.”

“A local from LA here but definitely prefer the beaches of SD. In my opinion La Jolla has the most beautiful beaches and Blacks Beach was a place we hadn’t visit yet. Definitely bring hiking shoes for the climb down and track at your own pace. Better to be safe than sorry. Once you’re down find a sweet spot and relax. Sand is perfect and waves are beautiful. Optional clothing so account for that.”

“Should probably avoid if you’re looking for an easy hike, afraid of heights or hiking with kids. Thrilling hike! Starts off with a rocky, slippery downhill hike. There’s a plank you need to walk on, some rock formations you have to squeeze through, some narrow ledges and a rope to use to get to the beach at the end of the trail. Very exciting and fun hike if you’re looking for and adventurous hike to the beach!”

“Love these trails since in my backyard. Go all the time with my dog. Easy level unless you choose to go all way up to top of Dictionary Hill. If you follow trails south, crosses over Jamacha Blvd and links to trails near reservoir. Bikers used to ride a lot before this part closed a few years for construction, but its open again now. Keep an eye out for coyotes n rattlers tho, especially with small dogs. My midsized pip and I have been lucky so far but have seen many over the years ????”

“Quaint little Trail. It was maintained by a hard-working volunteer community but since it has been in the County of San Diego hands for the last year it seems to have started to get more improvements. There are some washed out areas, the parts that still need to be improved to make it a safer path (uneven and rocky terrain) it's nice 15-20 min elevated hike.”

“I have been hiking in SD for 7 years now and I like to go to those hidden paths; well this is a gem. The entry is in the back of a quiet neighborhood and you will be you will be parking on a cul-de-sac. There are numerous paths you can take as you go further into the hike so be observant as you hike so you can find your way back. So much to explore, many views to enjoy, definitely recommended. Oh, and we just happened to come by a peacock on the drive there....what the...?”

“Been many times, walked up the mountain with my dog once a week for a few months l, attended events and even a stage play on top of this beautiful mountain. It seems as if now they have a security guard ensuring no one is smoking or drinking which is kind of nice because it's a lot less busy in my opinion. Overall beautiful views in all directions. Ample parking along the road and a few spots near the ampitheater. Must see San Diego landmark.”

With 2 large play structures and what seems like miles of open refuge for hiking and exploring, your family will truly enjoy this park setting. As an added bonus, this park also contains a dog park with 3 different fenced areas of play for your furry family member. This park is beautiful and your family will appreciate their time there.
