“It's a good place to get away from it all. Take the kids and go crawdadding off of the mini bridged trails. Good for hiking.”

“Small park with some beach access. There usually is a lot of large log and branch debris all over the beach though. It gets very windy here so not an ideal place for a picnic. The park hosts are very welcoming. Overall a very clean, well maintained park but some large debris on the beach.”

“Keep finding new places to explore! The trails are hidden in so many nooks... so many bird varieties. Lots of baby birds/ ducks/ turkeys/ in the park. Many shaded trails to escape the heat. There is an archery field, an electric flyer field, hiking, and more. It's one of my local sanctuaries :)”

“Nice little area for the pups. Has a few Benches for you to sit at but I’m usually running around with the doggos. Make sure you bring toys!”

“Nice rang. But it could use some work. It needs some shade. The hay bales fall apart and no one cleans them up. But the people I meet out there are very nice and friendly and are willing to give you tips.”

“Husband and I picked up dinner from DQ and had dinner in the Keating Park parking lot reliving memories of when our son played ball there back in the 80s. We were the only car. It was peaceful and restful and just what we needed. We did, however, miss the eucalyptus trees that had been cut down there along the back fence.”

“A great place to go hiking. Would recommend that you check if the water is still there before hiking there. Besides the lack of water sometimes it is still a very fun hike plus the hike is fairly easy.”

“Ventura has really taken some effort beautifying the area with new plants and flowers so I hope visitors respect that and keep the area clean. I've visited many many times and I've seen trash and debris quite a few times, especially after functions. The views are amazing, parking is decent and there are plenty of nooks to explore in the surrounding areas.”

“The one place in Ventura I miss the most, since I've moved. The most beautiful time of day is at dusk, watching the sun set and the lights come up in the city.”

“Place was awesome before the fire. Well manicured and some of the features (benches, etc) are cool. I still go sometimes on the free days but I'm not sure I'll ever wrap my head and paying to walk in the hills I grew up walking around in. Good views can also be had at arroyo Verde (park outside and walk in) and the cross for free.”

“I love smelling the ocean air around every corner. I just wish we could start hiking again.”
Address: 398 Ferro Dr, Ventura, CA 93001, USA
“I think it’s a shame that many parts of the park or no longer open the vehicle traffic some roads have remained closed since the fire other areas have been locked up and change that were once great areas to park and enjoy the views maybe have lunch or a picnic but ever since the creation of the botanical gardens which is a beautiful addition to the hillside they have slowly and systematically been limiting access which is unfortunate because of the beauty of the surrounding hilltop open space should be opened up more not less and it said that the same sad pathetic scapegoats of Supposedly “drug use “ and “illegal activities “with little on specifics it seems that they care not about having open recreational space available to all”

“Relaxing and authentic surfer hangout. There is a boardwalk and bike path along the beach. Many benches to sit and enjoy the breeze and sounds of the surf breaking on the shore. Informal art work found in many spots - people just do stuff like chalk art, leave messages, pile rocks into sculptures. Good place to watch surfers catching waves, or catch some yourself if you're into that. Parking: the lot I parked in - right off the beach - was small and free.”

“I love this place because it's where my family and I go to pay our respects to my maternal grandmother who adored the water. Aside from my private reasons, this location is peaceful yet lively. On holidays this park is quite packed and parking becomes a survival game. Enjoy an endless gentle breeze with strong enough gusts to breathe life back into you. Happy Mother's Day to all you precious mothers keeping us safe and loved in this crazy world.”
