“Great hiking trail. It is well paced so that a first timer wouldn't over exert themselves with steep ascents in some areas and plateaus in others. There are quite a few animals to see on the trail if you are lucky. I caught an eagle, squirrel and some cows grazing. There are conveniently placed stops to rest and catch your breath and a bathroom some ways to the top. It is important that newbies and first timers come with their own water and snacks to stay refreshed. Making it to the top can be a challenge but very good for a solo hike or with family. The view is of course breath taking.”

“Very cool place to visit! Be sure to go on their tour, you get to go inside the mine! It's one hour 15min long and only $5! Check the tour time so you don't have to wait, last tour was 3pm when I was there. There's $1 ice cream to buy at the center, in case you do end up waiting, they leave on time so be a little early.”

“During springtime it is so beautiful here. The hills are green and it is still cool. Hikes can be a bit challenging for those who are a bit out of shape (like me) but are rewarding. The visitor center is very cool. If you have time, try to make it to Prospect Tunnel to venture 200 feet into an old coal mine tunnel. Lots of wildlife here including coyotes to watch. Can also take your pooch anywhere as long as he is on leash.”

“The mine tour was great. Ethan was an excellent guide. I spent about three hours there including a five mile hike. More time would have been better, but I was traveling from the East coast and only had an afternoon to explore.”
