“As a minister who has presided over hundreds of memorials at a variety of memorial parks and mortuaries throughout the Bay Area.... I would have to give Oakmont a five star rating for compassion, service and attentiveness to those in grief. When we lose someone we love, we need to feel our loved one's wishes, beliefs, and legacy will be respected. In reading some of the Yelp reviews, I have to state that Oakmont has learned from their mistakes. They are committed to better service. Skip Dailey and his team of funeral directors.... Phillip, Beatrix, Michael and Tom are genuinely concerned for the care of those who have lost someone they love. While working with them, as a clergyman, there is always a reciprocity of respect, consideration, and cooperation. It is a new day at Oakmont. One in which you will find the directors, staff, clergy and affiliate vendors will be exhibiting a revived level of considerate attention to detail, thoughtfulness and nurturing to those in sorrow.”

“Heather at the front check in office is a great person! She was welcoming upon checkin, professional, knowledgeable, efficient and friendly. KOA should acknowledge her for that and continue to employ staff that matches her quality. Our stay was great! Our two young children (4 and 5 yrs old) had a fun time....many fun activities for children to participate in and enjoy! Peacocks were another exciting surprise for the kids! We plan to visit this location again in the future.”

“They have 2 great playgrounds, one for 2-5 years and another 5 and up, a skate park, splash pad in the summer, 2 baseball diamonds with dugouts and bullpens, Basketball courts, soccer fields and plenty of lighting at night. Only problem I've seen is an insane number of ant colonies tend to congregate on the walking path so if you have toddlers wh like to start and stop they could get ants up their legs. But it's a great park and well worth visiting.”

“We were in Rancho Mirage for a weeks vacation. We had our 5 and 2 year old grandkids with us and were always looking for things to do with them. What better than pre-school story time at the Rancho Mirage Library ? !It was our first time here and we were overwhelmed with the beauty and the different offerings. There is a display with explanations of all different gems. There is a President Gerald Ford display with books from his personal library. There is a computer room. There is an machine which spurts out 1,3 or 5 minute short stories to read.”

The cabin has a fan, lights, electric heater, 10+ charging points, outside electric point for BBQ and 1 queen bed and 3 single beds (2 are top bunker beds). Bed Linens are not provided as part of the stay, needs to be carried. Very clean and comfortable stay. Bathrooms are flush toilets and hot showers are provided on pay basis. The Madrone cabins are right next to the Madrone Group campground. FireWood is available at motorhome at camp taylor close by for $8. Lots of trails and can visit creek near by. We will definitely return here.”

“Visited this location with a group for a special event. I enjoyed the location. Lots of shaded places to setup tent. Two parking lots and hiking trails near by. Also a short drive to a swimming hole, or super short walk to the stream. There is a beautiful cathedral of redwoods here as well. Facilities were clean and well kept throughout the weekend. I think this is a great spot for groups. Just be aware of the poison oak!”
