“Very safe for kids and accessible for people with mobility issues. Problems may arise for people with mobility/disability though as you need to park on the street on a very steep hill. Once in the park however, mostly on the flat with lots of space for kids to play. However due to size it is a pity there ste not seats dotted around for people to sit and rest if needed. The kids and adult play/exercise areas are great.”

“You can find a lot of California vegetation here (same climate as the Mediterranean) with the cover of big eucalyptus and pine trees. Some of the small trails leads to vantage points to the Fountain Plaza (to the south) where you can sit on benches.”

“The park is far larger and more rustic than expected, with very little development. It felt more like a visit to a (country living) friend's house as we stayed on the east side of the park. We checked out the campground (small but ok), the "Ranch," and biked a little. The ranch had nothing to offer mid-week by way of exhibits or activities--you need to visit the west side for that. The bike trails seemed like fire access dirt roads--there were a lot of hills making the biking tough for our novice family. Mountain bikers who know what they're doing and have good gear love these trails. We saw two groups of horseback trail riders--that's the way to do it! There's a dirt lot where trucks and horse trailers parked and riders rode from there. We saw a coyote in the campground! That was the highlight for my city slicker kids. It was good to feel so separated from civilization and we can't wait to visit when it's green.”

“Have visited this park many times. In fact, we walk to it on a regular basis. The park staff are friendly and courteous. The park is well maintained and has plenty of picnic tables. Many mature trees for shade. There are activities for all ages—bike rentals, horse rides, paddle boats, softball fields, etc. My favorite is the train ride. Each holiday, they have themes—— at Christmas, it goes thru Santa’s village and opportunities to meet/listen to stories read by Mrs Clause”

“Very nice park for the family to include the pup! Was not very busy at all and large dog side is the perfect size. The fence is solid. Only place I was a bit nervous with my husky was along concrete wall but it wasn’t an issue. Water fountain worked and bags and trash were provided.”

“A beautiful, peaceful, serene, magical, and memorable park. I absolutely love it here. Granted, I may not be playing at the playground so much anymore but, I still do go down the rock slide occasionally and swing on the swingset. I love taking a good book with me and sitting down on the sand by the lake water. It is soooo gorgeous and I love that it is secluded and quiet a majority of the time. This is one of my most favorite and magical places to be.”
