Ritter Ranch Park

Address: 4010 Elizabeth Lake Rd, Palmdale, CA 93551, USA

Park

“I really like this place. I like that its a different terrain scene from your usual palmdale desert. Gorgeous green rolling hills. I like that you can stray away from the trail and still be safe. Yes it's true that people don't clean up their own dog poop but. It's so nice in the morning.”

Santiago Oaks Regional Park

Address: 2145 Windes Dr, Orange, CA 92869, USA

Park

“It's kind of a bummer you have to pay to park but you can park farther up the hill and cycle down for free. It has some good mountain bike trails, the most popular being Chutes. To get to that (starting at the parking lot) you have to go all the way up the hill past the big rock with graffiti on it, past the American flag, and then right at the wooden fence thing. It's hot as heck and there is a lot of bike hiking to get up the hills so bring water. Edit: I went again today and it is even better now. There has been some great trail work and the weather now makes it a much more comfortable ride.”

The Point

Address: 6516 Stephens Ranch Rd, La Verne, CA 91750, USA

“Great hike near Mountain Meadows golf course. If you park at the point, the toughest part of the hike is getting back up the hill to your parking spot. Bring water. From the point to the sandy wash area and back roundtrip will take you about 2.5-3 hours walking. Watch out for horse poo and extreme bicyclists.”

Seward Mini Park

Address: 30 Seward St, San Francisco, CA 94114, USA

Park

“Crazy fun for all ages! Even my 75-year mother enjoyed the slides. :) There was already cardboard at the slides so we didn't need to bring any. We went on a Friday and there were just a few smaller kids there who didn't stay long. There are two slides side by side so you can race. This was a fun time!”

A great location for hiking, horseback riding, walking around and looking at the beautiful facades. The trees and streams are picturesque. There’s also a venue here for music or parties - in a big barn. This place is fantastically out of the way and from another era. Very tranquil. I will be back!”
