“In the hills above Beverly hills, is one of the original millionaire mansions.Why you can rarely get inside, you're free to walk around the buildings, the gardens, and get a beautiful view of Los Angeles, especially good at sunset. And, it's one of the few things that's free in Beverly hills! Dozens of movies and TV shows have been shot here, and the Mansion itself is just what you would want a Beverly hills mansion to be. “I grew up a Las Palmas Park right around the corner for my grandma's house. they've always been in the community park out reaching to the senior citizens and youth in the area. They offer baseball,basketball and use tohave a swimming pool in the 70s that was about 1 foot deep. great to see that's has expanded in size from what it was when I was a child.”

“Nice place to go and kick back. Not a big spot, just comfortable size. Grass, pet friendly, enough room for frisbie. After dark, there's lighting around the perimeter but not lit up like a baseball field, nice low coverage lighting that gives a sense of privacy. A quiet spot to kick back with your lady. Also, you can watch the jets flying in and out of LAX. The Lagoon is quite large with a path you walk around on. Restrooms are available. Parking is free and great food within 5-6 minutes from the park.”

I ran into another mom, who said that there are rarely others using the park. Very small, bit really all that you need for young kids who you want to give a chance to run around. I also like that it's entirely fenced.”

“An isolated and beautiful 20ft. concrete check dam built across Rustic Canyon Creek. This small waterfall, which is flanked by graffiti, is shrouded in moss and foliage. The location is accessible, either by hiking in via the Rustic Canyon Trail from Will Rogers State Park, or by descending to the waterfall from Sullivan Fire Road using an unmarked and unmaintained spur trail -- identified by small wooden steps leaving to the left of the fire road, roughly 1/4 of a mile from the trailhead.”

It's trails may not be as long (a full loop is about 1.6 miles) but the instant you step into Murphy Ranch you are surrounded by nature, civilization disappears. I lived in big basin state park for two years, and now in Whittier this is the only place I will go. It's the best.”
