“Best Sushi place in Bakersfield! They have really good service and food. Their sushi is almost always fresh and always tasty. They have specials that are genuinely Japanese, like Uni (sea urchin) and different cuts of quality tuna. I've had sushi in big cities all over the US, and I can say that Umi measures neck-and-neck with any sushi you can get in San Francisco or NYC. Charlie, the owner, is a great restaurateur, and he owns several businesses in the area. He's a great guy, and his restaurants never dissapoint.”

“Finally, first time I’ve been to a restaurant using outdoor dining since this pandemic started. It was great to meet up once again with my sisters to enjoy a sit down meal outside. It was overcast and a little chilly, so they had ample heaters to keep warm which was nice. We ordered fish tacos, veggie pizza and a margarita pizza (gluten free crusts). For appetizers, Buffalo cauliflower and Brussels sprouts. Everything was delicious except the margarita pizza. Big disappointment...very bland. LOVED the sprouts! The staff was very accommodating and friendly.”

I couldn't believe the freshness of the lettuce; the lettuce was crisp & juicy @ the same time. The red-like salsa, was very spicy, almost like habanero sauce. I'll go back for that sauce alone. The employees I came n2 contact w/were just fine; I'm not understanding some of the reviews on the employees. I believe if you're cordial to the employees, they'll be cordial 2u. The comments from the reviews made it seem as though the employees had attitude ab initio; this wasn't my experience. I'm quite sated w/my purchase, as well as the employees being amicable. “Everything had a huge wait and then we remembered that kings is great and we hadn't been in a while. We were able to make a reservation online for a half hour in the future and left the house. “This place has a nice casual yet classy atmosphere. We sat outside but every table had its own heater. It was very comfortable. The waiting staff was super on top of it. She checked in often and was super friendly. The drinks and food were good and the menu had a nice arrangement of things to get. We got fried squash blossoms, the fried chicken, and the wagyu burger. All of them were great. It was a fun night.”

“Tomato Pie has always been delicious. Great variety and delivers well. I’m writing this review though to show my appreciation for the customer service I received on my last visit. As a vegetarian, I ordered a Mac n cheese pie online for take out. It wasn’t until I was waiting in line at Tomato Pie that I noticed that the pie is NOT vegetarian, as it contains bacon bits. It was 100% my lack of attention detail for the error. However when I explained my error to the cashier she kept her friendly demeanor and offered to make a bacon free pie no issues whatsoever. Less than 15 minutes later, I was on my way home with a great Mac n cheese pizza. It was really nice to see a business be accommodating and not be petty about a customer error. Thanks, Tomato Pie ❤️”
