The store is probably the cleanest I have seen out of all the other Vallarta is here in Bakersfield. The workers here are all helpful and friendly. Not bad looking either LOL. Shelves are always stocked nice. Bakery smell so delicious. In the food court what can I say about the amazing smells and freshness and taste of the food prepared there. “If your reference point is other Smart & Finals, this one is stellar. Much larger with a bigger, more varied selection of food and other items than your standard Smart & Final. If your reference is a regular grocery store, this Smart & Final, like all Smart & Finals, lacks selection variety. In this case there is only one grocery store occupying this spot, and so that's what we got. This store has particularly noteworthy fresh produce, meat, alcoholic beverage, and baked goods departments than your standard S&F. The staff isn't superlative, nor are they horrible. The store is relatively well laid out, bright, and clean with ample parking, so bonus points for those. The real, secret hidden gem of this store is it's day-old baked goods section. You can get some really deals there, and that particular department is dedicated to, and succeeding, in keeping several pounds on my bones and several inches of girth to my waist. They are a small price to pay for the pleasure one receives.”

“The store manager here is very nice. I went in the other day to purchase one of their new big helium balloons during graduation week. I bought it days before in case they would be out of stock. I went in later that week with my receipt to get it inflated and she right away helped me out, didn't even check my receipt. She greeted me and was very nice. =) Store is always clean and organized. Plus they are also always willing to open up more registers whenever their lines are long. I prefer coming to this store instead of the other location in HP.”

Stop in and grab a cold drink or snack if you are in the area. Lotto tickets, soft drinks, cigarettes, snacks and beer are always fresh in stock. They also have a selection of air fried foods that are good for a quick bite on the go, Ray puts them out fresh every day. Chicken. Pizza. French fries. Cheese sticks. Burritos. Etc. Ray has been doing this for as long as I can remember, every day. Going back to 1996, when I went to high school across the way. (The fried foods might not seem like much to the average review reader, but let me explain there is NOTHING around here for miles. So that fried food is a God send when u need something of substance to eat. 😅)”

Everything tasted great from the soft shelled crab tempura, nigiri, to the rolls. The seafood is fresh, you can tell by the color and the texture. I say overall excellent value for your money. I am glad it's they're not too far from my place. Fresh smelling hand sanitizer with moisturizer placed on each occupied table. Parking doesn't seem to be bad. “An interesting grocery chain that has a lot of brand choices I have not seen at major grocery chains for years. During the pandemic hoarding, they were always stocked with toilet paper, paper towels, sanitizers, etc., even during the rationing. They never price gouged but did impose quantity limits for a short while This location is across from the Concord COSTCO and located in a somewhat seedy strip mall. I think most people avoid it for that reason, but it is safe. People are starting to hoard paper products again, so be prepared. The COSTCO is now running out of all paper products again.”
