“I can’t say enough good things about IRA. Before joining, I had only done a bit of English as a kid and Western occasionally on vacations. I’ve now been riding here for a few months and have taken a variety of weekly lessons both private and adult group classes. The location is beautiful, the instructors are knowledgeable, and there are a variety of horses. Above all else the instructors and stable hands are so kind. I have severe anxiety and Lisa, Olga, and others have been patient and accommodating. Whether you want to be a championship rider or are more interested in having fun like me, they truly care about everyone who rides there. Relevant COVID info: everyone wears a mask walking around the stables, and apart from the restrooms everything is outdoors. You can pull your mask down when riding but that’s fine as you’ll be so far apart from anyone else (20 feet or so). It’s a great way to get outside, learn something new, and stay safe.”

The Tree House cabin is actually in the trees and has a babbling brook running next to the hot tub and inside the tree is a tiny little rabbit family with props and themes. Pewter cutlery, every inch elaborate and crafted. Warm and soft bed with amenities like Ice Machine and Fridge. Just the best And the owner was the coolest woman you can imagine. Runs a gift shop next door with incense, costumes, books and just everything for this kind of retreat.”

“The cabin was cozy and the beds were comfortable. The kitchen came with cutlery and silverware. The air conditioning, heat, and fireplace was great. The WI-FI didn't work though and the pool and hot tub was completely drained (I was really looking forward to using them). Also, many channels on the TV were unavailable so I had to scroll through them to figure out which ones we had access to and which ones we didn't (most channels are unavailable). It would help if they provided a list of channels we had access to. Overall it was a nice experience though.”

“Great location - just a short walk from the beach, making it easy to make multiple trips in a day (if needed). Found the number of separate bedrooms, number of beds, and size of beds very accommodating for 2 families with small children, as it allowed for a number of different sleeping arrangements. Dining area was large enough for a group, making happy breakfast memories. Kids also loved the toys and books hidden in the closets. Only downside is that the kitchen was a bit small and lacked any storage space for pantry-type groceries.”

We sought to find things that would not only help in improving his communication and physical needs, but will also bring joy to his day. We found Horses for Healing and today our son loves each session. Exiting the car he is skipping/running to the arena. He is not only having fun each time, Marcy and the wonderful/amazing volunteers work with him on horse safety, communication through interactive means, and improving his physical needs (gait, balance, etc.). The amount of pure happiness I see on his face each session and the growth he has made socially, expressive communication, and physically has been wonderful to see over the past 2 years. “We went out to Big Bear, CA this past spring break week for a getaway with some friends, and we reserved with Patriot Vacation Rentals. We stayed at TimberLodge, which was an amazingly beautiful cabin to stay in. Like REALLY nice.Extremely comfortable and cozy, and located in a perfect part of town. Everything we needed was no more than 5 minutes away, and we were able to relax and cook our meals as a group in a very spacious kitchen and just disconnect from our daily life for a little bit. Plenty of space for all the kids to run around, but not so much that we couldn’t keep our eye on them. We took our kids to the Big Bear Zoo, Alpine Slide, and just explored the area a little bit. Plenty of good restaurants and bars nearby to enjoy.But the best part of our trip was the high-quality accommodations that we were given by the folks at Patriot Vacation Rentals. We’ll be back in Big Bear again in the late summer for a family reunion/getaway to reconnect, and we definitely plan to get back in contact with Patriot Vacation Rentals to help make that happen.”
