“My Great Great Grandfather built this church. His Name was Henry Meyring, and he was a miner in Salina. His main claim to fame was discovering the Melvina Mine at the top of Melvina Road Nearby. He built the house next to this church, the blue one. When his wife Sarah became upset about the low morals of the town, he built her a church. As far as I know, he built it by himself, and you can tell that it is an ode to the carpenter's craft. Everything is wood inside and out, other than the foundation. In the 20''s and 30's it stopped being used as a church and became a mine assay office. However, the building has been lovingly restored, and added onto and now serves again as the town's (and all of Four Mile Canyon's church)”

“My wife and I stayed here for one night in mid-March. We really loved our stay at Eldora Lodge and hope to come back again. Mike and Sarah were very accommodating and nice. Mike baked us a banana pepper & pepperoni pizza which was honestly one of the best pizzas either of us have had. The bathrooms have heated floors and the view from the back patio is incredible. We were both very surprised that it seemed like we were the only guests at the lodge. We highly recommend this place to anyone.”

“My girlfriend and I stayed here last weekend and had a really great time. Honestly if there was a 4.5 star option I would give that. Overall, we had a blast and loved our tiny home. Pros: It felt like we got to crash a tree house built for grown ups for a weekend. That was awesome. The inside was very clean and the sheets were nice and comfortable. The layout was really unique and the skylight was a cool touch for looking up at the stars. It’s really close to town which is awesome if we come back for a more extended stay. The check-in and check-out process was also easy. We had a ton of fun hanging out in the tiny home, and it was a nice taste of tiny house living. Cons: The house could use maybe another couple pans for cooking. There were also a couple of things that were broken, like the fold out table that was in all of the photos. They had a flimsy replacement table in the house but it sort of cheapened the room. I wouldn’t complain about this if it didn’t cost me $250 for the night. Additionally, there should be some hot tubs or something, particularly if they’re using the term “resort.” We got a late check-out time of 12pm because it was Valentine’s Day weekend, but the normal check-out time is 10am. That’s a smidge early, honestly, and I think 11am is a more reasonable and widely adopted check-out time. Most of these are meant to be constructive criticisms and wouldn’t ever prevent us from returning. In summary, we will be back, and we are excited to stay in a different themed tiny home. Definitely check it out as it is one of the more unique getaway experiences available in Colorado!”
